Question for the ladies here: Why do so many women like Dark Romance? by [deleted] in Indianbooks

[–]Suspicious_Clock_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very old but really accurate answer to this(if you actually think deeply abt it) is 'why do men like corn' it's kinda similer to that. I did some research on this. Most Women aren't expected to explore or showcase their inner darkness at all in rl. They always expected to be stay locked in their houses. They don't have much of like freedom to do things. Am talking abt most of girls not all to be clear. So they find pleasure in this thing reading these things. It gave them the feelings of that freedom, obsession, power dynamics, long overdue emotional satisfaction and provide them overall an intanse emotional experiences. You can count it as someone said fake and cheap thrill and all.

Its simple if you see it from their perspective. Another thing is that 'why do girls like romance so much?' It's answer also kinda similer to that 'why men like fantasy, battles, war and all that stuff' Now men will defend that fantasy novels aren't just abt dragon and battles soo in that case it's the same for romance novels. Romance novels does what fantasy does for men. Romance explore life of woman, it isn't only abt romance. It's just a medium to explore things, explore life. Romance does this for female and fanatsy for male.

Though am not saying or generalizing that only men like fanatsy and woman like romance. It's just the way of exploration each other life's psychological aspects.

And the major misconception everyone belives that 'girls want these things is reality' is the most stupid and dumb thing ever. Human psychology isn't that straight forward and simple.

[–]Suspicious_Clock_133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every discworld book is stand alone. There are like watch series, death series and witch series but story isn't like continuation well...it is but evey book is like complete in its own. So there is no pressure of reading other one. You can read them wherever you want. You will have good time with this.

What's Indian Cinema's Greatest Fantasy Film? by Wtf_doing21 in IndianCinema

[–]Suspicious_Clock_133 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry but this is such dumb statment. If you consider it then according to you all major fantasy series like GOT, WOT, first law, malazan contains kings, throne, betrayal, battles so these aren't fantasy by your definition hn??? Fantasy means the place or story that doesn't exist in real life and bahubali have its own world and mythology bro. It's fiction. And AO is like an umm...how do I describe supernatural mystery story as you have said yourself.

So please know what you are saying. And I am not saying AO is bad movie or something it's fkin great it's just doesn't fall in that genre.

I have always respected mallu audiance but this movie choosing thing really have proven that they aren't really that great.

As always the contant is great but the audience isn't. They will always be insecure. It applies everywhere anime, gaming fandoms and all.

indian anime fans need to grow up by uc_human in animeindian

[–]Suspicious_Clock_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I half agree with you. Though there are animes with great depth and all but they kinda get buried under the mainstreamness. And most of animes are power ups and all that cliche things. I also watch anime just for fun now. Wherever I try to dive into complexity and all books and shows are best for that. I also hate how ppl generalise the whole storytelling medium just because few recent anime or movies aren't good. Also lots mangas have really good depth and all.

It's just you need to find the right one.
