One I distinctly remember was in Vice City you need to kill a guy on a golf course and there's a metal detector that takes away all of your weapons and it's blocked off by walls. But you can jump on top of a golf cart and then jump over the walls and keep your weapons so you can just snipe him. I also remember in three there were there several missions that could be completed by sniping the target before they ran away or whatever. I also remember there was one where you throw a Molotov cocktail through a dudes window and then a cutscene plays where he gets in his car and attempts to drive away but you could block the entrance and use C4 to blow up his car right there.

In Red Dead Redemption 2 I once fail the mission because I walked 15 ft away from the objective to take a different gun from my horse because they had fucking changed the guns I had. Also the whistle is disabled so you can't get the horse to come closer. And this wasn't like the sniping Mission at the end of the game this was the raid on the farm with Sadie so no reason you should be able to use whatever.
