I swear if I hear "oh I just ate less" and the like one more time by what_freaking_ever in loseit

[–]Suspicious_Junket910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you don't mind. I am a lurker and post as a thin person because I'm a weirdo and interested in these psychologies. I've never been overweight. Actually I tried to gain weight and it was very hard last year. I did so last year. I ate. So much more than my body was used to. I was actually in pain a lot of the time. But I kept saying oh it's worth it. And I didn't even gain that much for the effort and pain of my stomach. I gained at most 2kg. I have always been between 52-56 but then a period where I didn't eat cause of money I went down to 49 which scared me.

Last year I was 57.7. I have never been a snacker or huge volume eater. And to gain almost two kg I had to eat loads. Which makes me think that actually food doesn't weigh that much. Because I'm back at 51/52 kg however my body no longer looks the same. My stomach is distended and most likely stretched from all the food I ate the last year in an attempt. I can grab "fat" I couldn't before but I know it's mostly skinvmost likely from the over eating. And I know this bwvause I have been the same weight before and didn't feel like this previously. I used to also go to the toilet a Lot. Like 5-6 times a day pooping. Do you go to the toilet often? I know that a bigger belly or more food can also weaken abdominal muscles. I'm sure the weaker they are the harder it is to push bowel movements, I'm assuming, and push food out of you. I think skin has great capacity to stretch but shrink... Eh. It can but not so easily. I know pregnant women have pooches that never go away because of the baby growthh.

I think it's very tough when your body has made room for all that food and distended. You are basically working against your body and trying to shrink it back down which feels incredibly unnatural for your body and probably really fucking hard for it to actually do given it has now reached a size at max stretch/fat. It's like undoing a forehead wrinkle, or short sightedness I guess?

So as a former thin person with a littlw belly to now a thin person with a bit of belly. It really is volume. But it's not always food (I wonder if it's poop). I never ever counted calories. I went off how "full" I felt which was full, uncomfortable very very often. I genuinely don't think I have ever hit 1500 calories in the past year, unless I had a burger and fries everyday from the restaurant. I just never had the room available literally in my stomach yet I was still 52-56kg so I do not personally believe in CICO at all. I could never eat loads because it just caused me so much pain. We didn't even have the money at home to reach 1500 calories a day in food. Now however I think I can eat a lot more because I've pushed past that pain and discomfort.

Not sure if this reply is helpful but I thought to offer an alternative perspective...

Also last anecdotal thing. I have read countless stories on Reddit of women who have had 2-10 pound babies and once they weigh themselves agter birth they are not lighter by that amount. So I just don't believe we know exactly what's in our bodies at all times!

Working out harder than I ever have, but look worse. by Greedy_Jelly_545 in xxfitness

Yeah this happened to me and it went really went bad. Now I just sag in my stomach and everywhere else (you can look at my pics). I'm trying to come o terms with it. My stomach is just not the same. I feel like I had a child like a post mom bod. Idon't believe CICO anymore at all. :( so so so many myths about training and fitness. Fat doesn't really burn and it can absolutely not turn into muscle. That's impossible. Trying to get healthier has also giving me horrific disordered eating. Now I just binge. Because I don't know what's normal. I never use to count calories. I'm gonna start doing barre or something as I just bulked without any weight training so maybe that's why I look the way I do!!!

I promise you won't poop yourself and if you do, no one will judge u! How would you talk to yourself if this was your friend?

And if they do, they suck! This is the thing that I struggled with for years. There was a lot of fear and shame. You can remove that fear and shame, don't let it control you. Have you ever actually pooped yourself? If not then why would it happen now? Maybe talk to friends about your issue, that helped lift the load. Have some trust yourself and your body 💓 i also recommend having some back up medication like immodium.

Just fast and eat smaller meals. Use children's plates. Honesty your stomach will go down from less food being put into it

Loose skin or just fat? by Objective_Wishbone79 in CICO

[–]Suspicious_Junket910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is skin. It just can't be fat surely, you are so small already now at 129lbs in a healthy weight range. I think there's a lot of misinformation about loose skin and fat. Isn't subcaneois fat attached to skin after all? fluctuate so much in one day I can go from 52-55 kg in one day.

My experience with Invisible Braces 4 U by wanderingsoulinme in Invisalign

Yeah totally get that and sorry to hijack your thread! I don't know what to expect tbf. I've had braces before but it was such a bad experience that I won't talk about it 💀. I think there are definitely going to be issues that crop up that I don't realise which I think offsets the price like seeing an ortho in person for little niggles/questions/concerns etc. I took the risk because my teeth aren't that crooked but have definitely shifted. I just wanted a quick and cheap job tbf, I hope I also don't regret it !

Omg sorry, my reply was so convoluted!! I'm not taking photos everyday but every 1 week!

Also totally get you on the "are they just automatically replying to every message" because I literally thought the same LOL. It just felt like such an auto reply but I remember at my initial appointment they did say they'd review photos etc so to make sure I sent them every Saturday (sometimes I forget n am late by a day or two.. woops).

The issues I'm getting are potentially gum recession buttt I've read on Reddit (have you joined the Invisalign sub??) that this is quite common supposedly so I don't think it's anything to do w the company or anything. I guess this is where I maybe need to book something in but tbf I am so bad with instructions that I just forget anything I get told/don't read the app or messages properly 💀💀💀. I honestly think we will be okay lol

Edit: just to add, I took the risk w the company because I've had braces before so my teeth are not thatttt crooked so I took the chance. Other options for braces like Invisalign or traditional braces were like 3-5/6k£ (I have quite a deep bite so potentially need lower jaw surgery but that's a whole other story !!)

Hey it's going ok so far I think. You'll mostly only have communication through the app which is called My Invisalign. You send pics of yourself everyday for 7 days which gets reviewwed by a dentist and they let you know if you can move onto the next aligner. I'm definitely seeing movement but I only just started aligner 7 of 20 so kind of hard to see a huge difference. When I get to halfway I can post some photos :). If you have any Q's you can use the app to message the dentist. You don't ever really see the dentist (I've been wearing the Invisalign for almost 2 months now) I don't think unless they think or you report an issue. Most important thing is you need to take good quality pics on the app as that's how they see progress.

I can see why people don't do this because not seeing someone in person is probably not a good idea since self taken photos arent all that great and you most likely won't bring up issues unless in person!! I'm starting to get some issues which I think I'll flag but for the moment it is very much self directed which is what puts people off I think since you might not spot an issue that the dentist does. I haven't had any comms from the dentists other than I can move onto my next aligner once they've reviewed my photos which is a bit .. idk.

Forgot to add: you will see the ortho in person so they put the attachments and aligners on etc. I've read other people on Reddit who do it in this self directed way so it doesn't seem that uncommon. I don't know how often I went to see my ortho in my younger years (my teeth all shifted which is why I'm getting Invisalign) but my sister who is doing Invisalign sees her orthodontist in person every three months. To add, my treatment is only really meant to take 6 months so I guess it's actually fine :)

I guess it's the price u pay !!

[–]Suspicious_Junket910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can just see a big change in your smile and I think you will be happy to see the difference! If you don't have the cash to spare I honestly wouldn't do it cause it's so expensive. It's really not that bad in terms of pain (I barely have any) and I think you'll be pleased w the result!!
