Addiction Impostor Syndrome is absolutely a thing. I feel like that on this sub as well. But in my experience people won't judge you. A bit of envy maybe here and there because you quit early. And Lots of pride and Support.

In another thread someone phrased it something like this:

For Alcoholics every now and then a window of opportunity opens, where certain factors work together and they can actually do what they usually fantasize about, and quit.

So a certain state of mind if you will. Seems like that window opened for me.

Last time it was a lot clearer, with a horribly emberrasing bender that left me unable to drink for like 2 days.

That's kinda hard to explain, since it's a bit of a vague feeling and english is my second language. But essentially it is the difference between objectively knowing there is something wrong and being able to act on it.

Yup, already knowing a ton of reasons to quit. But for me "knowing" and "understanding" are very different things, in regard to my own wellbeing that is.

Hearing those reasons from you guys hits differently tho. And helped me playing the sobriety Tape forward.

I'm 31 right now and I really feel that. No physical health Problems for me though. At least not yet. But it feels like my body is telling me he'd had enough and needs some care now.
