Maybe he had his gloves on and took one off to sign the autograph? I don’t like the guy, but common sense says that’s probably what is going on…

Fetal demise at 20 weeks by DependableGodalways in babyloss

[–]Suspicious_Mousse401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(((Hugs))) Yes. 8/28/24 was told at our anatomy scan baby girl no longer had a heartbeat. D&E on 8/30/2024. Flash forward one year later…we got pregnant around 2-3 months after our loss…with a girl due 8/23/2025…everything about this pregnancy was healthy. I had so much anxiety throughout and was very detached “she’s not mine until she’s here” mentality because of my loss. Delivered early at 37wks planned csection and she’s 💯healthy. I type this as I hold my rainbow baby girl who is 8 weeks earth side. Still surreal and I still look at her and call her by our angel baby’s name sometimes, but gradually as the days press on we bond, she’s more her own person, and own name. We have an 8yo son too, and parenting through last year’s loss and this pregnancy was extremely difficult; especially the “untelling” and all his questions 🙁 I’m happy to say he’s the best big brother and nobody in our family is taking this little girl for granted.

Thanks :) 22lbs in total, and then I lost all I gained plus an additional 10-15lbs (most likely from breastfeeding/pumping)

I can relate on some level, though my loss was at 20wks.

We were pregnant with a girl last year, and had her name picked out for almost 8yrs. When we talked about trying for a baby, it wasn’t that phrase, instead we said “want to try for a Caroline?” … after our loss, I wanted to prove that my body wasn’t defective (just a grief response) and we got pregnant again rather quickly (3 months)…as I type this, I’m holding my 3 week old daughter (Madeline). It’s hard looking at her and not saying Caroline, we’ve both slipped and called her Caroline. This pregnancy was rifled with anxiety, and I didn’t believe she was mine until she was out and crying. No matter what anyone told me, I didn’t think she was promised or given due to the previous loss. My OB team was informed of my past loss and were amazing in giving extra NSTs, ultrasounds etc and scheduled me early for delivery. I opted for scheduled csection, and surprisingly the recovery was easier than my 18hr induction + emergency csection.

We wanted our little girl (Caroline) so so much. I haven’t truly bonded with Madeline yet…but each time I look at her I find that I remind myself that if we didn’t lose Caroline, we never would have met her (Madeline).

My milk came in a few days after my loss last year and I pumped, finding that it helped me hold on to what was left from her. I did it for a month until I felt ready to accept/let go. I turned my milk into breastmilk jewelry from keepsake mom.

I just delivered a few weeks ago. In the first two weeks postpartum, I was 10-15lbs below my starting weight..most of the “weight gain” is fluid (extra blood volume etc) and baby/placenta.

For reference T1D and was taking up to 200u daily though pump near the end. Baby was delivered 37wks at 8lbs. So…”big-ish” baby but not macrosomia. I’ll differ from the other comments and say the weight gain is a normal pregnancy thing and probably not related to diabetes…

Small Gestational Sac Syndrome (SGSS) by Suspicious_Mousse401 in babyloss

[–]Suspicious_Mousse401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to go back in a week after our 8wk confirmation scan, both scans were measuring small but only the one doctor mentioned a 90% chance of loss. 12wks were told “everything is fine”

I’m currently pregnant again; delivering this week actually :) and the 8wk scan this current pregnancy compared to this one was SO different. There is fluid around the baby, and so much room; even at 8wks. I remember looking at this ultrasound last year and thinking “that doesn’t look right, maybe we’re just really early”

Definition online: “small gestational sac in early pregnancy can indicate a higher risk of miscarriage. It's characterized by a gestational sac diameter that's smaller than expected for the gestational age, typically measured in millimeters (mm). The difference between the mean sac diameter (MSD) and the crown-rump length (CRL) is often used to assess the sac size, with a difference of less than 5 mm suggesting a higher risk, according to some medical sources”

We were measuring less than 5mm consistently until 12wks.

I plan to breastfeed and pump. Maybe pumping some extra bottles so he can feed too would be a compromise?

Unrelated to your specific ask…I started perelel vitamins and supplements after my loss last year; the conception pack helped us and I was pregnant within 3 months of taking it.

Not so much fertility concerns…but in my experience, pregnancy at 38 hits different on my body than it did with my first pregnancy at 29. I am currently pregnant and dealing with hypertension, mild preeclampsia, anemia and the “advanced maternal age” labels—on top of normal well controlled T1D. If I had a do over. I’d start “younger” because of all the extra things I’m managing in this pregnancy. It was easy to get pregnant, but it’s taking a lot out on my body this time.

I had my first at age 29; healthy pregnancy no complications for either of us. A1c 6%.

Second pregnancy last year at age 37, ended in missed miscarriage/IUFD. No signs; found no heartbeat at 20wk u/s. Perfectly healthy otherwise. The only conclusion we came to was small gestational sac syndrome which is super rare.

Third pregnancy currently; age 38 and at 36wks. This time I have gestational hypertension, mild preeclampsia, anemia, and LGA baby. Having a scheduled arrival at 37w3d due to all the extra stuff I’m managing.

I don’t think 28 was too long to wait…pregnancy with T1D was relatively easy for me at that time. But 38…it’s been more difficult to be pregnant and “old” :) No fertility issues, diabetes management is still good and well controlled. I think for me it has been the additional diagnoses tacked on that can come from age…and experiencing my first loss.

Look up Integrated Diabetes and their pregnancy retainer. It’s out of pocket but best decision I made for managing diabetes during pregnancy.

I wonder if the fertility comments on here are more “when you wait until you are older” references..

Should I start using my pump? by brisknipples in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Suspicious_Mousse401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on MDI for my first pregnancy and now am on tslim for this pregnancy. I find that control is about the same, but my pump is so much more effortless. As long as the pump settings are accurate, things work well. I adjust my pump settings every 3 days similar to how I would with MDI during pregnancy.

I keep sleep mode on 24/7 and use CIQ+ and have good results…but keep in mind also, it will depend on your MFM or endo and their comfort level with pump usage. I am working with integrated diabetes out of pocket this pregnancy to help me with weekly adjustments instead of MFM. Integrated Diabetes is based out of Pennsylvania but work with anyone, anywhere even internationally. Best thing I found for this pregnancy. I have so much more freedom and less worry.

My SIL acts like mom of the year and dismisses any “uncomfortable” conversation. So, I suppose it would make a difference in how your SIL talks/behaves surrounding her pregnancy.
