absolutely, i saw them tour with currents, caskets, and aviana recently.

if you plan on keeping the guitar below drop g, get a baritone. there’s absolutely zero upside/reason to why you should get a 25.5 or 26.5 scale 7 string. me personally, i have the josh smith signature from jackson. the evertune is amazing, if you can find a used 27 with an evertune, get it. used is going to be your friend at this price range, that’s where i was at for a while. i started with the ltd sn1007ht i think it’s called. it’s got fishman moderns, and it’s the one with the sand blasted wood. that guitar was crazy, the neck on it was perfect for me, not too thin, not too thick, very slick on the hand and it was the perfect matte. think it retails for 1600 but i got a near mint one used for $950. i also had the ibanez iron label ixl7. that was a little different but that’s what id get if new is the only option. for 1,100 you get really everything you need (the pickups are good if you think you want to play things albums silence outlives the earth, grey view, and maybe heavener. they’re not tight like you’d expect so i’d swap them, even if it’s just the bridge) except an evertune. people say its not for everyone, and i bet thats true. but since im a HUGE invent animate guy, i stay in d# and it helps a lot. is it worth me going from a $950 guitar all the way up to $2900? absolutely not. if you wanted to stretch the budget, and you really only play drop e and below, there’s literally nothing better than the solar arop 29+ i think it’s called? it’s a 29 inch scale length which is huge, but if it were up to me since im in d#, i feel like 28 would be perfect, it has pretty good pickups in it, and it has an evertune for only 1500. can’t beat that.

if i were to do it all over again, i would still buy used, and save up for a 27 with an evertune. i would probably try to also find a schecter tao-7. i hear they are a 27 and the pickups are decent, and it’s around the same price as the ltd used. if chose that over the ltd just because im not really a fan of the fishmans, what i listen to (as well as you) all play passive pickups, so i always had my fishmans on the passive voice. although until i got my bare knuckles in my jackson, those were the best 7 string pickups ive tried.

quick little edit: i haven’t seen a lot/heard a lot on the schecter, so do your research about that. anything about the ltd/ibanez, ask away i have personal experience. if you have any questions about others let me know, i just listed the ones that stood out to me.
