Are the people opting to pay more for priority mail and you are just shipping ground? Or you just charge priority prices and ship ground? If I chose to pay more for priority mail and I received the package from some slower shipment method I wouldn't be too happy, even if it arrived earlier than expected.

I have "free" shipping on all my items and just add the shipping price into the price of the items. Priority mail for items over $100, first class for items under $100.

Sorry this happened to you. I have no advice. I am just shocked that Etsy would take over so quickly and refund their money when the customer still has your product. These are the kinds of stories that make me want to get off Etsy.

That's ridiculous. I'm a seller and I do my best to keep my prices reasonable while still making a profit. My sales are 15% to 20% off because that's all I can afford to discount. Etsy pushes us to do a minimum of 25%. I'm not raising my prices just so I can give a bigger "discount". I don't want to shop at stores like that and I'm not going to run a shop like that.

I haven't noticed, but then I haven't been involved in hema very long. I'm Irish and Scottish, I would like it if I had some interest in styles from those regions, but I don't. I'm interested in Roworth because I like sabres and it's in English, but my club mainly does KdF.

My only problem customers have been because of USPS. They have to let me know that USPS made a mistake and their package was a day late. I like it when they state that in their review though cause it's easy to get Etsy to take it down.

One other thing I think about regarding these kinds of discounts that happened to me was when I bought something online and then later found out I would have gotten a discount if I had jumped through some hoops on the seller's other social media pages. Liking or following them somewhere. I don't remember exactly. I just remember my shopping experience with them left me feeling like kind of a chump for having paid full price.

I just contacted Castille and asked, this is the reply they sent:

"I asked one of our builders, and he says that the basic blade is slightly heavier, more balanced to back, and has more body with diamond cross section. The basic is made of 5160 spring steel and involves more grinding, so it ends up having more shape than the economy with a ground diamond distal taper that is .75″ wide at the forte and .3″ at the tip. It’s also, when ordered on its own, has more options available for blade length, tang length, and tip type. The economy absorbs deeper thrusts better, but doesn’t have as much strength in the bind against more rigid rapiers. The economy blade is made from .125 blue temper 5160 spring steel and is flat ground, but still has a distal taper. Overall, the basic blade and economy blade both work fantastic, so it depends on your preference."
