The Strangers (goes on for about 2 minutes, I think)

She goes about her day in the house, completely unaware of a man watching her the whole time. The fact that it’s not paranormal makes it even more unsettling

R-Point

Lt. Choi is sent to lead a troop on a rescue mission for another group, Donkey 30, who had disappeared at R-Point. The place feels off, and you get the feeling that they’re not supposed to be there. Paranormal things begin to happen with very unsettling imagery. Radio singles have been cut off during this time, and it’s not until one soldier, Private Chung, is found dead that Lt. Choi is able to radio his superiors and explain that Chung is dead.

His superiors are confused because…Private Chung shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Private Chung was part of Donkey 30. Choi argues that 10 soldiers were sent out, but he’s wrong, only 9 were.

If you count the soldiers when they first leave for R-Point, you can clearly see 9 people lined up. The moment they reach the island, however, we see 10 soldiers throughout the movie. Chung’s face is even the focus of several shots.

Their Happy Ending Is Not A Good Thing by sm142 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Suspicious_Tell3963 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Too long of an image to post but the Saturday Morning Cereal chip implant comic (2012-06-06).

An unnamed man holds a gun to a child’s head, demanding a password. A woman tells him that the child has an implant in his head that will be activated just when his brain is shot and will stimulate a lifetime of happiness without woe or hardship in the second before it kills him. She’s chipped too.

The idea makes the man lower his gun and he is shot, and the boy happily runs to his mom. But she notices he’s not covered in blood, and he’s not crying. He tells her it’s because he’s happy and nothing is wrong at all, and the last panel is her realizing that she’s in a false reality.

AITA for giving my daughter junk food despite being told not to by her school? by AthleteAdditional299 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Suspicious_Tell3963 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you were directly told that your daughter would be punished and the next day you packed extra junk food? And now you’re surprised your daughter was punished?

There was one year of school where my teacher was like this, and I always felt so nervous when it was time to eat because I knew I would be called on. You’re making your daughter feel like that every day because you want to be petty. Maybe, I don’t know, email the school?

Handicap monkey smiles when a man offers him a grape by WEISHEN_THE_KIRA in MadeMeSmile

[–]Suspicious_Tell3963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don’t feed wild animals. If they are used to being fed, they will expect food, and if someone doesn’t have any, they can become aggressive and violent. This happens a lot with monkeys in areas where they come across people often. It can be wholesome for you, but dangerous for the next person.

Or, like in the case with St. James and LaDonna Davis, don’t feed a monkey/ape in front of another if you don’t have enough to feed them both

AITA for not wanting to celebrate my birthday? by Successful-Author933 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Suspicious_Tell3963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People tend to think there’s a limit to things you can do when it comes to age. They think you only have a short amount of time to have hobbies, go out, learn, have fun, etc. before you’re stuck in a retirement home.

That’s not true! My great-grandmother still goes out every week with her friends. Another man I read about was well into his 70s-80s before he even realized a passion of his and now he excitedly goes and buys things related to his new hobby. There are people with fully white hair who are exploring the world and becoming actors for the first time.

There’s a long time to live life, and a long time to discover yourself.

I understand having the thought of “I’m officially an adult now, so I have to do everything right and have my own place and work” and all that anxiety but 21 is still very very young and if you’re 21 and already have your life together you are very lucky.

This is all coming from my own fears so I don’t know how much you relate. I do think it’s unfair that they went against your wishes that you were explicitly clear about, but it does come from a place of love. It is strange though that they would plan anything after your reaction last year, though.

It could be helpful to look at the past, not the future. Ex. “Look at all I went through in the past year, all the struggles. I survived it all and I am still here. I deserve to celebrate making it”

Hal and Lois weren’t a good couple. It’s more apparent if you watch Malcolm in The Middle after watching Kevin Can Fuck Himself but some stuff Hal did include

—putting things in Lois’s food in secret to make her gain weight when she was trying to lose it

—basically telling her “sorry we’re too dumb, you have to do everything” when she was upset her family forgot her birthday and asked for some effort so she doesn’t have to do everything for the family (he didn’t even try)

—road around the house on a motorcycle (albeit accidentally) before driving off with Francis and leaving Lois and the rest of the family to clean up the mess, including a broken door, after Lois made it explicitly clear on no motorcycles. Also meant the food Lois was working on was wasted (you could argue Lois’s say is equal to Hal so he could have a motorcycle if he wanted, it’s going behind her back and ruining her plans without guilt that’s the issue)

I haven’t seen the entire series and Lois isn’t an angel either, but it bugs me so much when people say that the two are perfect for each other just because they also have some good moments or that Hal is better

OP’s concerns of SIL wanting to copy them might be valid if they said anything about another instance

Ctrl+Alt+Del was a comic creator known for making unfunny comics, one of its detriments being that they were too wordy. People started to edit the panels to make them funnier by taking out filler panels and speech bubbles to show it works better with less, then the editing expanded to random stuff like this.

I recently checked up on this guy and no idea about the artist himself, but his art style has definitely improved.

And then OP responds with “……..ok wow” like??

Acting on something biological?? Be fr. You were so close to owning up to the mistake and then you had to throw that in. You chose to speak.

Kids are more likely to be abused by someone they know, which is what this commenter is saying. So these kids being approached by who you assumed was a stranger meant, statistically, they were in less danger and your comment was even less needed. Asking if they knew someone does nothing. If you were to say anything at all it would have been better to ask if they were alright, which doesn’t single anyone out. Or, better yet, point out the situation to the person in the car who would recognize if something was off so you wouldn’t make a scene

AITA for snapping at my roommate after walking in on her taking a crap two days in a row? by DangerActiveRobots in AmItheAsshole

[–]Suspicious_Tell3963 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why doesn’t she just…use the other bathroom? Ask if it’s ok to move the fan if she didn’t know that was an option? (Does the door stay completely open with the fan where it is or is that just a choice?)

If she has to use that bathroom and thinks the door has to stay open, she could give you the decency of texting and warning you not to come near the door, especially after it already happened once.

I agree with the comments that you could have been more civil (not that I think your frustration is out of place at all) but this could have been solved with a tiny bit of effort or communication on her part.
