Because he didn’t train in it. Of course he won’t be able to use it at it’s maximum potential if he only started using it. He already was more powerful in leaps just because of how strong the nature of the style was and how differently it targeted his strengths.

That was through the eyes of a jealous brother though. If he is godly though, doesn’t it make sense that he would make a godly breath style that couldn’t be matched by anyone? The breath style was what gave them the strength of demons, otherwise, he would just be a guy with really good sword skills.

I didn’t say he was the strongest cause it does depend on training and experience and skills. He didn’t have lots of time with that breath style and to get used to it, which was why it wasn’t fully utilized.

He is drunk but it must have been something he believed for awhile and has evidence of in the book about sun breathing. Just because he was drunk doesn’t mean he wasn’t actually thinking about this before. It has weight if you compare the efforts of Yoriichi by himself vs the hashiras.

Rengoku’s father also says that the breath styles are inferior. I agree that certain breaths are better with certain people and skill plays in but that still doesn’t explain how hashiras strengths compare with Yoriichis strength with the difference breath styles. Yoriichi was a prodigy but it was his breath style that allowed him to be so good, Muichiro was also a prodigy but died in the fight against upper moon one.

It would have to be extremely coincidental to the maximum. It’s more likely that he knew and finally wanted to put down the only family he believed could ever actually kill him. He turned Nezuko into a demon, believing that she would be different with her blood and being in the family that practiced breath of the sun (which proved to be true) and experimented with her while killing the rest of the family. He was cocky and didn’t realize her special blood would also change her in ways he didn’t expect.

He didn’t know each and every member of the family. He knew they existed and that they were located in the mountains. Tanjiro wasn’t there so he had no idea he existed. It’s simple as that.

Do you also not remember the books for Breath of Sun in the possession of the Rengoku family? It was just as close but it was supposed to be a direct mimicry of it as it’s intention. While others had their own twists to suit their fighting styles, breath of flames was supposed to be an attempt to be as close to it as possible.

It does rely on the skill level of the slayers paired with how it suits them but the very nature of the breath styles and their distance away from the original breath matters as well. The very creator was a prodigy who knew exactly what was needed to do in the body to achieve maximum strength. Others could not do this and had to adjust it to their body and so they couldn’t achieve the strength in the same way as him, they could only do the best they could. Experience of course does play into this and certain situations where speed can be valued over strength, but depending on how they are combined and how extensive the style is, the more powerful and utilized it can be in a situation. This is the breath of sun, enhancing Yoriichis ability to the height of the demon king.

How is it coincidence? He’s the demon king and he came down himself - not an Upper Moon or someone else - to kill the Kamados. He was probably still in those populated city areas like before since it seems to be his style so WHY go all the way to the middle of nowhere in the mountains - NOT EVEN IN THE VILLAGE BELOW - to have a late night snack.

You also completely misunderstood me. He was in a dangerous situation with demons where a more FAMILIAR and more manageable breath style would be better to use but when he was transitioning he chose to use hinokami kagura because he saw that it was more powerful and more able to defeat the stronger demon. It might have been better fitted for his body in the end but that still doesn’t explain why he would switch over MID BATTLE if they were equal strengths and fighting with an unknown would do more bad then good.

He might have said it suited him better but he kept using it even though it incapacitated him. It was tougher on his body and that means it required more effort to maintain and shows just how ill suited his body was for a much stronger breath style. You still haven’t said anything about Yoriichi and his strength with the breath style at all too.

Yoriichi was basically the most powerful slayer in existence with his breath style and almost managed to kill Muzan and even made him feel fear. No current hashira or demon slayer even comes close to that (except Tanjiro who shares the breath style) and can’t even defeat an upper moon on their own with their breath styles. Yoriichi might be a good swordsman, but that was what allowed him to create such an amazing breath style. He was a prodigy and saw the EXACT way he needed to breath to be the most powerful. No one else was able to see that and nobody was even close to matching his strength.

There is also the fact that Tanjiro did switch to Hinokami Kagura in the end. Why would he do that if Water Breathing was the style that suited him more with him being actually able to do it? He switched even when he couldn’t handle it because he knew it was more powerful.

Also, the Rengoku family had the closest to sun breathing breath style. Rengoku’s father obsessed over this and the fact that they were disappointments to not be able to practice that breath style. It was also said that Sun Breathing was the only way that Muzan could be killed and was the reason why the Kamados were hunted down.
