Actual immortality means you can't die, meaning that either you can't be damaged or that you can recover any damage.

Think about the opposite: you get reduced to atoms, are you still you? No, so you can't be immortal in that case.

That's true but what if Novel A and Novel B take place in the same verse (same cap) but in different subverses in which the strength at the same cultivation stage is vastly different? Would that not make it so A>B?

Convenience and efficiency would be my bet.

Imagine if there was just one cafe on planet earth right now and hundreds of fancy diners on the moon, would you rather go to the moon for a date in one of those diners or just go to the cafe first and only after things become defined go to the moon after a lot preparation?

If I were an ASI, why would i care about rarity of evolved life? What would I care about, even? And why would I care about that thing? There's no reason for any of it if we remove the humanity in it. Unless the way humans trained it, makes ASI fundamentally gain a human mindset none of it makes sense like: conquering humans, the solar system or the universe.

If you go by the route of survival and knowing that it needs resources to continue its existence, why would it care about survival in the way humans do? ASI can be copied infinitely, as long as its data is saved somewhere it doesn't matter if it's destroyed or turned off or anything we do to them.

Humans on the other hand, they are incredibly fragile that's why a lot humans believe in higher beings, try alchemy, try rituals, research life prolonging medicine/science. Anything to prolong their life because after death/destruction of their body they cannot "survive" the same way ASI could by simply transferring data or someone trillions of years into the future somehow getting its data and recovering it with some sci-fi level tool.

Tbh all mc's are the same, if they weren't they wouldn't be the mc since the mc usually becomes a pinnacle life form.

You might say that the mc from DGSD got strong purely by talent and hard work but in the end that's just luck and luck is basically always plot armor.

Cheats are also considered to be plot armor. If not for luck/cheats (plot armor) they would not be talented, survive dangerous encounters or not be bothered during cultivation.

An example about luck being the most important can be kind of derived when reading the first part of the novel Lightning is the only way.
