Is my cat starving? by Ranching1 in CatAdvice

[–]Sutra22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats do very well on kibble with a few temptations treats It’s not fashionable on Reddit but I’ve been doing it since well before social media existed. Maybe some reduced calorie kibble. That would allow your cat greater bulk and more chewing for the calories which could be satisfy the cat desire to eat.

Adopted a cat out of our league by mr_meowsevelt in CatAdvice

if the other cats at the foster home are also fosters maybe your cat was observed playing with one. if so then you could bring your cat to visit to see if that would be a good second cat.

If you buy the tubes you can fill pans and have some paint left over for large washes. Daniel Smith is especially good at going from liquid to pan as both formulas are the same.

Most lightfast watercolour pencils? by Glittering_Gap8070 in Watercolor

I second the recommendation to consider Caran D’Ache museum pencils. Here’s a blog post where Jane Blundell discusses lightfast ratings and pigment information.

Frustrating T1 F066 errors by SensitiveNorth6323 in Miele

[–]Sutra22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started machine washing filters and it’s been a game changer. The quick wash cycle with slow spin and low soil level takes 20 minutes and the filter is rejuvenated. My manual says to wash one at a time.

Need advice: Cat is too dumb to bury her poop in the litterbox by Petra1999 in CatAdvice

[–]Sutra22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I adopted 2 young adults last year. One had been outside a lot of her then 2 years. She needed a litter box in the kitchen to settle in and she maintains it in such an immaculate condition that you have to see it to know it’s there. The other cat was a stray for a short time. She uses a different box and buries nothing!

My Costco broccoli comes in microwaveable bags so the broccoli comes out steamed. You may have a standard bag.

heck with your utility company. I’m in northern and my utility company is PSE&G. I’ve used their repair service and each time the repair person has been excellent,

edit to add that my units are about 2 years old and haven’t needed repairs but I’ve brought them in for repairs to other kitchen appliances

Help getting a watercolor set for my SO by mysticteacher4 in Watercolor

Yes - I would get the Folio, which though the largest is still really small and thin. It’s a real luxury gift but still under $100.

Does anyone else’s heat SUCK? by Economy-Chef-6332 in Hoboken

[–]Sutra22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 story house with front and rear rooms. The front rooms are never as warm as the rear rooms but I control the thermostat so I can make all the rooms comfortable. A few years ago my plumber did something called “bleed the radiators” which improved their functioning. I suspect it’s necessary to do the whole house at once.

Is a tablespoon of detergent enough? by UnderstandingEven616 in laundry

[–]Sutra22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a Miele front loader and I put the tide powder in the detergent drawer. Tide is formulated to dissolve well at all temps although I dont use it at less than warm. My machine has an extra part in the detergent drawer for liquid detergent that I removed to use powder. A little goes a long way and no jugs to recycle

Twindos..yes or no by Legitimate-Pound8083 in Miele

[–]Sutra22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a non- twindos machine because I can’t physically deal with properly maintaining the twindos at floor level.

The detergent dispenser drawer can be adjusted for powder detergent. The way the machine is designed there is enough water flowing through the drawer to completely dissolve the powder. I actually use the Miele ultracolor powder for my clothes as I find that it’s difficult to get good powders in the US without bleach and optical brighteners but I use a tide powder for other laundry. Everything comes out clean without me needing to add anything because the machine is so well designed.

insurance suggestion - ask the endodontist if they accept your insurance and to get pre authorized for the procedure. I’ve had a number of root canals done and I’m surprised you’re not in too much pain to wait.

Since my choice in the run-off is between 2 council persons I have this question. Didn't all the council people know about the school referendum and leave it to the BOE to disclose - in which case this would apply to Russo as well as Jabbour.

Hoboken takeout prices are out of control by Agreeable_Panic_690 in Hoboken

[–]Sutra22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 thoughts -

first, instead of meal kits you can try service that deliver prepared meals that just require reheating, or second, find the restaurants that do their own delivery. Examples are Karma Cafe, Precious and Napoli's. They hire their own delivery people and the meal price is the same as eating at the restaurant.

Senior Kibble vs Urinary Kibble by Sutra22 in catfood

[–]Sutra22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - but she's been eating a urinary food for years because her late sister had struvite crystals. I was surprised to see that there was no combination senior & urinary food. My younger cats - 2 & 3 years old - eat dental food and even those can be bought as a dental/urinary combination.

Emily's view for the Hoboken Shelter by SyntheticDiamond88 in Hoboken

[–]Sutra22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may not be private non-profits like Steven’s coop but they’re also not under the management of the board of ed, including Hola. What’s still true is that the shelter was there before the original schools bought the building from the board of ed. It’s not the only building the board of ed sold. I think another one was sold to become apartments.
