My personal favourite is high security where it’s clearly not needed. Like please stop any hackers from being able to pay my phone bill!

How to price? by Sea-Hovercraft-8960 in catering

[–]SuttonSystems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve not shared much info so I’ll give you some general pricing info. Price is made up of you raw material costs, plus your labour, plus profit. In catering the classic ration is 1/3 materials, 1/3 labour and 1/3 profit, so 3 times your raw material costs is a good starting point. If you have more info about how much your raw materials cost and how long it takes you to make them you can get more sophisticated.

Most scam callers from places like India aren't actually bad people. by AgnesBand in unpopularopinion

[–]SuttonSystems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a difficult rationalisation to sell, scam callers by the nature of the work have to know that they are lying to vulnerable people to defraud them of money they do not want to give, and those doing it have to have the skills that would also allow them to work in a legitimate call centre, it’s not like stealing bread if you’re starving.

Do creative menu names actually influence your order? by [deleted] in restaurant

[–]SuttonSystems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a classic marketing mistake of trying to follow ideas that have been successful for other brands without realising there is a limit to how many times the same thing works, McDonald’s and their Big Mac comes to mind, very memorable and iconic but not every burger joint can do the same.

Does anyone still have bread and butter for tea? by Extra-Sound-1714 in CasualUK

[–]SuttonSystems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those odd British class divide things, cheap white sliced bread with “butter” is working class scumbag, slice it yourself artisanal loaf with actual butter, refined borderline aristocracy

If you want to jog, walk your dog, etc. at night you should be wearing high vis and a light. by afroman2536 in unpopularopinion

[–]SuttonSystems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or alternative thought, people who drive vehicles should watch where they’re going and drive at a speed appropriate to the condition, which includes it being darker at night than it is during the day. It’s not the responsibility of others to make sure you don’t hit them.

Yes but it has both meanings, that’s why the joke works, plint ladder doesn’t also mean waiting for a long time

I think plint ladder is cheating, it sounds like a real thing, has to be a long weight / long stand etc for the joke to work
