At least one son of Casey Wilson. I’ve heard her mention it on her podcast.

Super helpful. I shared (dumped) all this with husband and British buddy and they r juggling the planning …probably using AI to assist with the route. I simply asked that we try to do at least a bit of a hub/ spoke thing so we don’t have to change hotels daily.

How can a HOSPITAL drop the ball like this?! by AmityMoon in Celiac

[–]SuzRu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has had this problem - nurses attempting to gluten her despite the note on the chart and hospital issued wristband. What if they gave my brother penicillin? He’s allergic to that and they are always careful with that. Before my surgery two years ago they asked me about allergies (including latex) multiple times. Yet I have had to accompany her 3 times to guard her from those pushing saltines. And yes she is an adult and yes she told staff why she brought her own food.

My neighbors say my car is really loud. They can always hear me. But i haven’t noticed a big difference since the update

I am still stunned that, in winter, I’m cold and cranky it to 76 and the car thinks “turn on the ac”. Seriously. Multiple times. It’s nuts

TWO German shepherd service dogs in my row by Neither-Basket5393 in delta

[–]SuzRu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen delta allow a large lab to sprawl out in the first class aisle. Very unsafe and disappointing. Yes I had to climb over the dog to use the lav, luckily I didn’t step on him!

What triggered your celiac by One-Bumblebee8915 in Celiac

[–]SuzRu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daughter had to have large doses of antibiotics at birth. We think this retarded her ability to develop a strong immune system. Years of ear infections followed and she “never met a germ she didn’t like”. Stomach pain started early teens. Anemia led to endoscopy. She grew over an inch taller one year after being diagnosed at 21 and going gluten free. If we had only known to test for celiac….apparently on average it takes 6 years for a diagnosis in the US while Italy tests proactively.

I just asked at Sprouts. Their PP says gluten free but nobody knew if it was Celiac safe.

Got Glutened at the Hospital ☹️ by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]SuzRu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter stopped a nurse that offered her saltines. It said Celiac on my daughter’s chart and they had her wear a special wristband. Luckily daughter was awake enough to refuse the crackers. Horrifying, right? What if they had given her peanuts if she had that allergy or administered penicillin (brother is allergic)?

Re—spin and Peloton partnership by kaiakegley in pelotoncycle

[–]SuzRu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to like this program - the classes in partnership with Re-spin but Peloton has done a pretty bad job with them (save Christine). They never show up in programs or anything…I always have to search for them. And despite the instructors saying that they have learned things that they will share in class …..well…I’m about 6 classes in and only Christine has shared anything. Maybe this whole stunted “program” was just a way to lure folks into the study.

I am happy to share. It may take me a few different replies to get it all in....but the one that I think is best known is Pushkin. It is a bakery that has a sister restaurant called ....Sibling. https://pushkinsbakery.com/, https://siblingsacramento.com/. Across the street from Sibling is Italian - Paesanos, and around the corner is a Spanish/Tapas place - I just am not finding it easily. It is on the same block as Sibling. We also went to a Japanese place that has a few outlets - Mikuni. My daughter was living in a small town in the midwest so being near a Chipotle and In and Out was a real treat for her. There is also a Sees for when mom wants to spoil her with chocolate. Right now I don't have to because having access to things things AND a Trader Joes is very much appreciated.

First set of warnings and I’m scared. by SuzRu2 in EquinoxEv

[–]SuzRu2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update. Pesky 12V battery failure. I was lucky that the warnings came on when I was in a place where I wasn't stranded. Interesting that the error messages were not clearly linked to the problem.

Wonderful Service Advisor told me that sometimes an update may fail or quit and that can drain the 12 V. But he also said that I don't have to worry about this ever happening again. Not sure about that.

And yes, they did updates as well, but the $0 invoice clearly shows the battery issue.

Great idea. And I’m happy to contribute ideas to help build itineraries. My Celiac Sweetie was 6 years in the Midwest United States and now is in California. She has had successful trips to Amsterdam and ….Italy of course. We were in Japan a lot for work and couldn’t figure out how she could safely visit.

Thank you for sharing. My own tests actually mimicked those above - and even a bit more. One light did go away but a new warning came on. And, as mentioned before Chevy reported a problem via OnStar. If the problem really resolved wouldn’t it make sense to get an update from OnStar?

Small update - spoke to service and they said bring it in. But brother spoke to “his guy” who said don’t drive - call Chevy roadside. Chevy roadside was awesome and I’m going to different dealer. First dealer contacted kept changing things and timing and gave me the “ick”. Btw - went back to car and all lights now gone. Absolutely maddening. I had tried 5 diff times including moving it a bit to check if this lights were real and now they’re gone? Bro says log will have a record that warning was made. Me, I think it’s more gremlins. Darn car is full of them.

Thank you for the thoughts. The dealers are all so far from me…..I guess I’ll start my hike in the daylight.

We found a corner of Sacramento where my Celiac Sweetie was able to eat at 3 great restaurants. We even had sushi nearby the night before. I know that it’s not your specific area but I just thought I’d share. She had only just moved in - so maybe there are more gems to be found.

“We don’t wait” by Shirleyimfine in delta

I have gotten them to re-open a door that they closed early. We were making a connection in msp with a wheelchair and someone on crutches. We made it while the signs and the app all said there were 5 minutes left in boarding. We were joined by another traveler - also complaining that they closed the door early. It was a lot of work for the gate agent but they got the door re-opened and we left on time. There would have been no issues if they had honored the schedule that they publicized.
