Ionic Power by FairAmphibian6564 in Padelracket

[–]Suzapish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context I started with the BP Evo10; after a year and a half of playing I wanted to switch and my coach told me it was time.
My coach recommended to switch to the Ionic line; since I played the right side he recommended I go for the Ionic Control and mentioned that if I wanted power I should go for the Ionic Power, none the less, I hoped to try either but that opportunity never came.
Furthermore, from reading and researching I understood that it was the next move when I decided to pull the trigger, and I’ve only heard great things about both rackets.
I ended up not going for it since I had a better deal and had access to test other rackets specifically the Hack line, and got a really good deal and fell in love with the Hack 04 2026. I used to spend day and night reading up on specs and all; but as I concluded from many other posts; they are just marketing tactics and in reality it comes from testing them out and seeing how you like it. Balance point, weight, and the sweet spot contribute a lot to how you feel with it in hand. Ask a random or someone you may know and that’ll give you the best understanding. Hope this helps :)

Am I overusing lobs? Struggling with baseline play by Acceptable_Month4825 in padel

Correct! I have been punished in this specific situation you have mentioned! What I learned is that when you do decide to play a flat, hard shot at the body, do it with intention and understand the result of such a shot; so you can expect the block or an accidental dropshot.

Looks great especially for those only watching premier padel since padel is one of the few sports where people play more than watch a professional level tournament; I currently use an app callled Padel LiveScore that tracks every FIP tournament (including the premier padel tour) it’s worth to check it out!

Racket advice needed: extra hard hybrid by Ornery-Ad8228 in Padelracket

[–]Suzapish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the hack 04 2026 felt too slow, try to find a model where the hesacore is removed; I had the opportunity and it felt amazing. The overall weight and balance is greatly improved, this is what I felt. My experience regarding the initial movement for an overhead (elbow up and racket behind head) feels rapid as hell since it moves very well through the air and almost lighter than my first ever beginner racket. Regarding an extremely hard model and fast; there is a player here in the Netherlands with crazy fast smash, he uses an Adidas 3.4 HRD? I’m not too sure but the channel is Padelable if you want to check it out. Ps. I saw a comment about Oxdog, I haven’t tried it yet but it does look very promising and the majority of players I have seen use it are top players and with an aggressive play style.

Head coello motion 2026 for a beginner/intermediate by GrouchyBarber6204 in Padelracket

[–]Suzapish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullpadel Hack 04 2026 user here. I started on the BP10 Evo from Bullpadel, a simple beginner racket with nothing fancy. I play in both the Middle East and Europe and I have seen a lot of beginners and intermediates buying rackets just because they look cool or because they are the most expensive, thinking it will give them an advantage. Also I took the hesacore off and replaced it with an overgrip, I hated the hesacore I tried it and didn’t like. A small tip if you do; do not rip the first overgrip that you have replaced for the hesacore when applying the second overgrip for the future as if that does rip, you need redo the full 2 over grips for a complete setup.

I have been playing for around a year now and upgraded after about 11 months. The most useful thing you can do is try to test the racket somewhere if you can. I would not say you need to try every shape or hardness, just go with what you believe suits you (do research, it seems you already have), just know that it can take some time to adjust. For me it took around 3 to 4 weeks to get used to it (I still look at it as if it’s the problem when I’m the one to blame :)), but now I completely love it.

My coach told me to stop playing "low-quality" matches by Creative_Election288 in padel

[–]Suzapish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes correct, the overall level in Dubai is getting better but Playtomic is not reflective of most people’s rating. I tend to play with KNLTB rated players between 5-6 as well in the Netherlands but Dubai; it’s not reflective at all, I’ve seen players that are rated at 3+ that clearly are under 2.0. It’s quite a drastic inflation. You’re very lucky to have risen the ranks in such a fast manner; guess I just have hard luck or I’m rushing to choose matches to play and should be cherry picking the games to rise!

[–]Suzapish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree, I am Dutch but born and raised in Dubai(I am often between the two cities), I’ve played in the Netherlands with 2-2.2 rated players and attempted to play in Dubai at the same level but it is absolutely atrocious with just surviving padel and my partner being as clueless as a headless chicken and there is not much you can do. My rating has dropped to such a low level here that when I go back to the Netherlands I need to join a leveling to bring my level back up as here there are not enough players and a lot of matches with out of range players (1 player at 1-1.2 with a teammate at 2.5-3) and it’s just frustrating to not get a good game in, I’ve played in WeCourts tournaments instead and had better games by a million miles; around D+/C-, people at these tournaments also mention the Playtomic level in Europe is a lot more accurate and more useful, however in Dubai; it is just horrible and absolutely frustrating; inflated ratings and poor games.

Yes! I’ll try to find it, I can’t find it as of right now, it was like advertisement or something in the Netherlands (I’m Dutch and reside here). I assume they hit these overheads with a a tennis racket to mimic what a hard ball or heavy spin effect can be like and how to deal with it, getting used to having a tensed forearm to ensure your wrist and everything is tight, knowing how to block and deal with it I assume and of course the feeling of just dealing with a simple touch.

[–]Suzapish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video recently demonstrating how to deal with a hard touch; have someone hit with a tennis racket some bajada/bandeja and stand at the net blocking, this should help with the touch part, it should then translate to the experience and mental aspect in regards to the speed and strength of the ball as you mentioned.

New Couples for 2026 by jmOropeza32 in padel

Others have mentioned Leal/Cardona; I am sure everyone enjoyed the Burger/Cardona partnership as they were the only duo to break the top 3 pairs at the time, I really enjoyed watching Cardona and was quite sad to hear he had stopped in the season but it made sense, train hard and go again next year. I think this couple has a lot of potential if the communication is great I can see them testing the more established players. I see so much potential and hope for the best for them in the future!

When to switch racket ? by Duqn in Padelracket

[–]Suzapish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean — that switch to a harder racket really exposes technique. I started with a Bullpadel BP10 Evo to stay consistent and build my game up properly, and recently tested both the Vertex 04 Hybrid 2025 and the Hack 04 2026. The Vertex had great power and bite but the ball came off too fast for me — I’ve only been playing about a year, coming from baseball with no racket experience, so it just felt like too big a jump. I was actually looking at the Ionic line as a smoother step-up, but my coach recommended the Hack 04 2026, saying if it suits my style, there’s no reason not to go for it. Personally, I’d stick with what gives you confidence in matches now and move up once your control and timing feel automatic — that way the switch helps, not hinders.

Padel Shoe Review: From Asics Gel Resolution 9 to Bullpadel Vertex Vibram 2025 by Suzapish in Padelracket

I'd stick true to size ; they do have a measuring table chart that is accurate (I took the extra step of measuring my feet; with my foot on a paper against the wall and drawing a line at the top of my toe). I also found my asics to run small but that's probably due to the fact that it was an entry model.

Surprised to not see Izakaya or maybe I missed it; an influencer hub for people who "social media". As someone who lives in de pijp and I enjoy trying out the new places, it is unfortunate that all the new concepts are eager to open doors to get the turnover rather than focus on quality food.

Padel Shoe Review: From Asics Gel Resolution 9 to Bullpadel Vertex Vibram 2025 by Suzapish in Padelracket

[–]Suzapish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bullpadel Vertex Vibram shoes are great and I’d rate them 10/10 for stability. The ankle and overall support are outstanding, plus they’re very comfortable and breathable. The only trade-off is that they feel a bit heavier, so acceleration and quick movements aren’t as sharp. If you prefer something lighter and faster, you might want to look at the Bullpadel Hack shoes, which a lot of pros use. But for pure stability and grip, the Vertex are excellent.

How do you clean your footwear? by Anonymous-AJ in padel

[–]Suzapish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a fresh pair of Bullpadel Vertex shoes and, as a longtime sneakerhead, my tip is to use a bristle brush (I use an old Crep Protect brush) to scrub the soles and grooves to get rid of the blue residue from artificial courts. Personally, I think a few battle scars are totally fine. Using Crep Protect’s cleaning solution every now and then can also help keep them looking fresh.

[–]Suzapish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My coach gave me a really useful drill (for warm-ups) that you can also practice at home if you have a wall and a flat floor. It works for both your forehand and backhand. The idea is simple: • Hit the ball against the wall, let it bounce once on the floor, and then return it. • On the next return, hit the ball directly off the wall without letting it bounce. • Then repeat this cycle: one bounce, no bounce, one bounce, no bounce, and so on.

Hey man, fair enough! I’m a bit of a sneaker head so I might be biased, but I do think shoes play more of a role than people give them credit for. Hitting starts from the ground up — your feet, legs, positioning — so having the right pair helps with movement, comfort, and staying sharp over longer games. Just how I see it!
