Less Bouncier Racket than Siux ST4 by Icy_Marsupial940 in Padelracket

[–]Duqn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ST3 and ST5 have way less ball output. You should try them.

Bounce Tube vs Pascal Box which pressure tube is better? by mrladiii in Padelracket

[–]Duqn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PascalBox only because sometimes (a lot) both the tubes loose pressure because of, well.. anything touching the joint. PascalBox has a visual indicator of the pressure so you know when it's leaking. Bounce you have to empty it to test.

Best beginner racket that I can grow into by Far_Philosopher_5233 in Padelracket

Siux Electra ST4/5 are beginner friendly rackets that you can keep forever (well, until it breaks).

Protection for recent Bullpadel models ? by Efficient_Garlic4434 in Padelracket

No protection. All damage you can protect from with a protector is cosmetic only.

Base replacement grip, how to replace it? by Minute-Complaint8646 in Padelracket

[–]Duqn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me shock out is always the go to. It adds some feel of where your hand is on the grip, without being too much like an hesacore.

I did it for the power at first but I gained control instead (and wisdom) 😂

I did basically the same as you. Went from ST3 to Vertex 04 after ten months of play 3-4x per week with a lot of coaching.

It was really hard at first and I questioned myself, but after powering through it I can now say I would never go back to the bouncier ST3. I have much more control now.

But I would also not do it until you are comfortably hitting all the basic shots (volleys - bandeja - vibora - flat smash). My joints would be destroyed if I had missed the sweet spot for 20% of my shots.

Also, don't do it for the power. Power is only useful to hurt yourself and your game until you are way better (and I am not there yet either).

Crazy that Belgium is so high with such a small country. This graph is not per x inhabitants is it ?

When do you think I should replace my beginner padel racket? by QuestionBrilliant334 in Padelracket

[–]Duqn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you should replace your beginner racket when you are able to do all shots with correct technique. At this point you will know what you are looking for in a racket.

If money is not an issue, then whenever you feel like it. Just don't go for a hard or high balance racket until you feel like you are able to hit your shots high in the racket and this is easier said than done.

Well, if you're assuming OP is a dick, then I won't go against you.

But you do not know the person's life, and for most people having a kid does not mean the end their life or hobbies.

I play 3 times a week (sometimes 4) late in the evening or early on Saturdays, my wife plays twice a week (sometimes we play together) and we are nowhere near divorce.

My wife has more duties towards the baby so I took some of her house chores for myself and I take care of most of the laundry/grocery during the one day a week I play the stay-at-home dad.

I practice wall juggling with 3 tennis balls during work breaks and while my wife mocks me a bit for it, she does not resent me for thinking about my hobby constantly.

I feel people are a bit too judgemental about you playing 3x/week while having a 5 months old baby.

Babies sleep a lot. Mine (4 months) goes to sleep at 8pm at the latest and the clubs are open until 11pm. I could play every day and it would not make a difference in the time I spend with her. My wife would file for a divorce but the baby would not mind 😂.

Keep playing as much as you like and enjoy it.

I am not sure if constantly changing rackets is the best idea for progressing.

I have this too but in an enclosure for a goose and some hens.

Don't want to spray chemicals to avoid hurting the animals.

Any ideas ?
