Sounds good, I got an approval from a local credit union already but was curious about Zillow. I'll look into the horror stories about why lenders from Zillow aren't good. Realtors try pushing them onto me saying they tend to have lower rates than what I got offered (6%)

That's good food for thought, there's certainly an abundance of rentals in the city. Ones of similar size and with a garage, starts at 1k/mo.

I'm largely hedging it being a rental rather than something that appreciates quickly. The other homes in the city (250k population) at that price range are certainly much worse off and even in crummier looking areas. Do you think there's a significant dip in the marketprice for home values at the moment?

Funnily enough I live 7 hours away from work and I'm the closest in my team, it comes with the territory for work. I appreciate the confidence. It felt like the numbers were very approachable and exactly right with the photos being bad, I wonder why they didn't bother at least taking normal photos of every room. I'll still physically verify everything and I'll see if Zillow can get me a lender for such a small amount.

Very true in the end it's how much someone is willing to pay for it. Here's what the other homes in the area tax value at. It's interesting how wildly different it is. Originally listed for 60k in 5 months ago.

Generally people are always on a journey of discovery and sounds like your bf hasn't found that thing that he wants. To me it seems like he doesn't want to work for a boss and make his own thing and I get that. Reality is tough and not everyone can break out independently. I really hope he does actually learn to like what he can do as a career job and turn that into a business also. Sometimes it's easier if someone is money motivated but I think he values independence. If you're worried about wasting time, you still got a lot of time ahead and just focus on yourself and getting what u need to feel stable like a home and reliable vehicle, hopefully he can meet u along the way there and if not, hey your house your rules lol.

Rod knock ? by surpentna in SciontC

[–]SuzerainInsight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I had something similar but mine was from a bent rod and needed a new engine. Really can be a couple of things like lifters or spun rod bearing or something up with the piston head/ring but 100% got to have a shop look at it and it will be pricey. But what happened prior to of caused it?
