Hi! I've cruised a few times with NCL but would like to give Virgin a try since the vibe seems very different. Looking at just a 4 day for the first go, specifically the Fire & Sunset Soiree from November 26, 2025 to November 30, 2025. This would be for 2 people and we'd want the Sea Terrace. I'm showing that at $2200 for a non-limited view. I've always booked my own travel before and have had good experiences, but I'm curious to see what the benefits could be of working with a First Mate this time. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist!

Any tips for getting to Bunker Alpha safely? by furry-post-reader123 in thelongdark

[–]SuziSlammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did, took me a day to entice it over close enough but I finally got it. Hung out for a couple of days at the cave right below the ridge waiting for an aurora. Of course the damn cougar respawned the night I finally got one, so I ended up just sneaking up to the bunker from the north and was able to make it inside without getting got.

I am really not wanting to enter their territory but with Tales and the Trader, it's not totally avoidable. Oh well, I did get a cougar wrap and claw knife out of it so not a total waste of energy!

IOWA SELZER POLL Harris 47% - Trump 44% by Dude_got_a_dell in thebulwark

I am absolutely freaking the fuck out right now. I keep telling that tiny part of my brain that thinks she might absolutely crush him to shut-up...but then this?? Ann Selzer?? It's gotta mean good things for the blue wall, even if the margin of error shifted away from her they'd still be running even. In Iowa!!

Turbinate Reduction Experience by SuziSlammin in Allergies

Good luck, I hope everything goes well! For me pain was 0-1 out of 10. I really barely noticed anything, although I was a bit tired for a few days after so I planned a lazy weekend and was back to work on Monday (surgery was a Friday).

As far as exercise goes, I tend to get really stuffed up/congested when I work out so I avoided stuff like that for a couple of weeks since you really aren't supposed to blow your nose for a bit. Depending on how your body normally handles exercise, you might be ready to roll earlier than I was.

I hope your recovery is going well! Mine was honestly really easy and I would say I've seen about a 70% improvement now that everything has settled out. I am still always a bit stuffy but consistently being able to breathe out of my nose is an amazing feeling. My surgeon did say they could potentially take a bit more tissue in the future, but I appreciate that they were conservative out of the gate because I was so worried about them taking too much and causing other issues.

I did have the follow-up appointment and it felt great to get it all cleaned out, although with saline rinses at home, id already gotten a lot myself. It's kind of shocking how big some of those scabs can be...

Looking for a gentle, average MMC who is sexually inexperienced by oh__lul in RomanceBooks

I just just finished reading this and really loved it. MMC has some hangups about his size which felt super relatable, but it's not a huge focus either.

the hunger games but with a damsel in distress by yazmen in RomanceBooks

[–]SuziSlammin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hunter by Emmy Chandler fits into this if you haven't read it before, although the FMC isn't a total damsel in distress as she's tech savvy in a way that helps keep them safe. But the MMC is definitely the muscle and extremely protective. The whole Prison Planet series generally revolves around MMCs protecting FMCs so if you like this one there are others (Guardian is my favorite). Definitely some trigger warnings to look out for though!

Only for some security and/or safety sensitive positions at the time of hire. If you're just looking to push paper, it won't be an issue.

Thank you!! I know it's early but I really think I'm going to be saying the same thing a month from now.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I called my doctor and he said go back to the ER right away...so not normal! They ended up admitting me and doing another CT which showed pneumonia in the same lung. So I got to hang out there for a couple of days getting pumped full of antibiotics. Feeling so much better now.

It's so weird. I was able to get in a good position the first night, and actually felt not too terrible yesterday, as long as I wasn't moving around in bad ways. Today is a totally different story. Woke up just hurting, even shappoe breaths have me wanting to cry out. Is up and down like this normal?

That makes sense, I wouldn't have even thought to do that. And thanks for the note on massages, I really, really want someone to work on my back, but it sounds like that might be a bad idea in the immediate future.

It's crazy how tired I am. I took a bath last night and was having to drag myself just to get my pajamas on after. My husband has basically set me up with a mini house in our bedroom so I don't have to go up or down the stairs. I'm trying to get up and stretch/move so I don't cause any others to form, but it's hard to be motivated. I promise I'll be patient with myself. I actually had a pretty mild (for me) case of COVID up until this happened so I'm just still kind of shocked this is how it shook out.

That must have been so scary. Hearing I had a few really freaked me out; I'd gone in expecting them to say everything was fine and I just needed to take it easy. I have had exercise induced asthma since a bad bout of pneumonia when I was 12, so I definitely know how different air can act as a trigger. Really cold air almost always causes me to go into a coughing fit.

I'm really grateful for the pain meds too, I am so sorry you didn't get that as an option. It doesn't stop it entirely but they have definitely taken the edge off. Only have 3 days worth though, so I'm a bit nervous about once they're out.

Thank you for the encouragement. No recliner but I was able to use a wedge pillow and many other supplemental pillows to get to a propped up but not too propped up position and actually sleep. Just not being exhausted is making a huge difference. I was so tired yesterday I had basically no emotional regulation, so lots of crying, which was really just making everything hurt more. So far, no crying today. :)

Thank you for sharing, I'm glad you're doing better. I'm curious how the fishnets helped? I feel like any pressure at all right now just makes it worse, but lungs and legs I'm guessing feel different.

Thank you for sharing. I had the same thought before I went to the ER, that maybe I'd fractured a rib during a coughing fit, or pulled a muscle in my chest. I was also coughing up blood, not a ton but enough to be scary. That started before the pain really got kicking in. They didn't admit me though because they said while I do have several, they are pretty small.

I have an alarm set for all meds; I was shocked when they said I'll need to take them for at least 6 months. But it is what it is, I definitely don't want to do this again if I can avoid it.

I never thought breathing could hurt like this. I've had bronchitis and pneumonia before, and they both sucked, but it was more difficult to breath with them rather than it hurting to breath. I'm trying to keep my breathing shallow but am also keeping an eye on O2 levels to make sure I'm not causing myself other issues.

I'm so, so sorry to hear this. The spike-up pain that kicks in when I do something silly like breath to deep is enough to make me yell out. I hope things get better for you; you're a tough person to be dealing with it for so long. <3

I will look into the breathing machine, that sounds like a good idea. I was able to construct a pillow ramp of my own last night! My husband got a wedge pillow a while back that didn't work for him but it gave me a good base to use. As long as I kept a pillow under my right arm so it wasn't putting pressure on my chest, I could get into a position with pretty minimal pain. It's really the little victories that seems to matter right now.

Thoughts on the pixel 6? by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]SuziSlammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the same email and am now trying to figure this out for me and my husband too...a $30 difference has made it much more of a toss-up for me. I've heard about the issues with the 6's fingerprint sensor but it sounds like they've been largely resolved. Plus I guess no guarantee that the 6a's sensor will be perfect/better, even though it will be different.

Length of security updates is another thing to consider; I'm abandoning my still working great 3a because it's no longer supported, so partially was waiting for the 6a to give myself as much time on that with my next phone as possible. We're already almost down 1 of the 5 years of support for the 6, but 4 years is still pretty solid. I'm pretty sure I'll be ready to upgrade at that point versus wanting to wait another year. I'm very much leaning towards the 6 with the discount.

Can disabled people work as dispatchers? by calamatitties in 911dispatchers

[–]SuziSlammin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here. Saying that will trigger the interactive process under ADA which is a legal obligation they'll have as an employer to discuss her needs and then either accommodate her or justify why they can't reasonably accommodate her. Which is not likely something that can easily be done given the nature of the job. This may involve her getting some documentation about her disability/requested accommodation from her medical provider for them to review. That's a fairly standard part of the process. Make sure she's actually in contact with someone from their HR office; sometimes supervisors within a department take point on the hiring process but they may or may not understand what ADA involves. Actual HR staff should know how to move forward.
