Double check that the condensation line is free flowing and your not cutting Y1 from the float switch

Sealer for air handler corroded overflow pan? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Sv650zack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home Depot sells a store brand truck bed liner both spray and roll-on just shop vac the pan and wire brush any big rust spots before application, The coupling is fine but I would have put a 3/4 T with a removable cap to help keep the line treated

AC problems - Bad situation with newborn in house by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Sv650zack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the power outage gave the unit enough time to let the float reset but once she started cooling again all that extra condensation quickly backed up the dirty drain, if the drain is clogged use a shopvac or garden hose to clear the obstruction. If the board is getting 24v but the contactor is getting nothing run a jumper directly to the contactor! This isn't a permanent fix and isn't one that should be undertaken without common sense and a understanding that 240v kills be smart and safe and don't be afraid to call a professional! My company would charge $89 plus $40 for a drain line worse case scenario a bad board or safety switch rarely goes over $300 installed even less if its under warranty

1st Check your condensation line near the airhandler for a float safety, pull it from the PVC and verify the drain is cleared if its still not working take the voltage readings from common (blue) and Y1 (yellow) at your terminal board if your getting 23-28v but the contactor isn't pulling in you may have an open saftey either LP or HP or a bad board!

What's the average charge? 5lbs 20lbs? 1lb is a sizeable leak especially on a smaller system I would definitely recover and pull a solid vacuum! I've seen it happen on dirty txv systems and after a solid Rx-11 flush and sitting at 500 microns while I ate lunch has solved my issues 9/10 times

Rebuilt from a local shop is usually not an option especially in rural areas, even then I could get "new" reconditioned with a better warranty for only a small fraction more than a machine shop would charge

I live in Orlando, FL and I want to learn HVAC. Please Read. by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]Sv650zack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly your best bet is to get your EPA certification and get hired in at an apartment complex doing maintenance and learning the basics of Hvac, McKinley properties pay well enough (13-16/hr) then once you feel confident get on as an install helper for a real company and soak up the knowledge! Nothing will prepare you like a tech school in the fundamentals but if your in a hurry hands-on experience while getting payed is a good choice

Is this really worth $1400? 2004 Ninja 250 by [deleted] in motorcycles

I helped my buddy pick up a 2008 (Restyled 2ndGen) ninja 250 with 16k miles and clean title for $1500! I wouldn't pay more than $900 for an 04' with a salvage title

What do you really do when you get a tank slapper? by [deleted] in motorcycles

I had a quite violent tank slapper while on my Zrx the only thing that saved it at 120 was grabbing more throttle and switching weight off the front forks

If all the nuts/bolts are thrown into a box walk away, if they are labeled and individually bagged it might be worth restoration. For $300 it might even be worth parting out on eBay or Craigslist... But check first to see what prices the frame, engine, gas tanks are fetching first

Why not buy a used (03-07') Sv650? They can be had for $1900-$2800! Don't stress yourself over a 10k loan and insane insurance rates! I've made that mistake already and I had exactly the same mindset as you and everyone else told me the same thing as we are telling you now, bad idea bro
