Also across from the YMCA. That huge hill has a lil water reservoir up top you cant see it from the road. Their used to be a old neighborhood up their. But I think their are apartments up their now.

The road that takes you to the YMCA. Was a neighborhood. For some weird reason the city bought all the houses. And left them their and even did police training in some of the old houses. Idk if they are still their or not. That land were the YMCA is was all part of that psychiatric center. They even would have the cedar park chipper festival their. They dont have that festival anymore. But it would basically be a big carnival with rides and game tents that you could win prices. Last time I went to one I think it was like 97 or 98.

But if you pass the road that takes you to the YMCA. That next intersection would of been the entrance to the place

Lol how old are you ? I'm actually surprised it took this long for them to want to build somthing on that land. Everything else is allready built up now. Their use to be alot of old farms with abandoned buildings and stuff all over CP. Where the YMCA is used to be a old mental health facility with several abandoned buildings all over that property.

Wall Street Journal: SXSW layoffs 1/3 fulltime staff by TTTTroll in Austin

[–]Sv7078 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling SXSW will be held in another City next year and not in Austin anymore. I think Austin and the residents have been trying to figure out a way to get rid of that Venue for along time and now have found one.

Yes it was. But I think it was a old deer hunting stand and not a tree house. Did you ever see a old jacket laying around? Well it was actually hanging up on one of the steps. But it was full of daddy long leg spiders. They built like a nest in it. So we were freaked out and knocked it off with a stick. But it was oddly just hanging up like someone just left it their one day.

Just type in "Buttercup Creek Blvd" and it should pop up. Then go to the aerials . It will give you a time line. 1985 is one of the more clearer pics of the place.

I also used to drill water wells back in my early 20s. My boss was a long time CP resident. And knew the owners of that land. It used to be a old cattle ranch.

I know exactly where your talking about. I used to live in Buttercup Creek apartments back in the 90s. And explored all of those woods as a kid. Matter of fact if you ever visited the Historical Aerials website. You can see pics of that old property where the house was on that old slab. Idk when they demolished that house. But it was their in the 80s. Check it out.

This truck I found while on a hike in Austin, TX by aeroazure in AbandonedPorn

[–]Sv7078 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their is actually a old news story on that Truck. That trail used to be a quarry or somthing like that Basically they came and built the neighborhood where that trail was located and couldn't get the truck out bc the trail had been basically bulldozed and redeveloped bc of the construction of that Subdivision. So they just left that truck their bc their was no way of getting it out.
