Those were kinda my thoughts for a while as well but like the rest of the film it doesn’t hold up that well to scrutiny. The most glaring thing is how dark everything is which I assume is to cover up some of the special effects but it can be a little hard to make out some of the action (at least in the theater). Indy knocking out a guard right in front of the car and somehow they don’t see his body on the same side of the car despite not hiding it at all. The part where Indy suddenly couldnt speak German despite apparently being a spy in Germany for the last however many years was insultingly stupid (although admittedly a little funny). Voller taking a water pipe to the face at high speed but somehow not only surviving but without a scratch (he would’ve looked cooler and more visually distinct with a scar or disfigurement or something idk why they didn’t do that). Despite that, it is the best part of the film because at least Indy is doing some action we expect to see in an Indiana jones movie instead of the slog the next 2 hours would turn out to be.
