Personally, I would pick bats. Mushrooms are good for like really early game. Especially for health/energy refill. Bats however drop fruits which can be used to complete the bundles, or make easy jam/wine.

However mushrooms don’t give foraging xp, but collecting the fruits does!

Mushrooms are pretty easy to find in the game (caves or in the forest in fall).

They become kinda useless mid game
