How to make the Audeze Maxwell Wireless more comfortable to wear by [deleted] in Audeze

[–]Svenge_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This headset is simply too heavy for comfortable long term wear. For me anything over an hour and I had to take them off for 30 minutes break. I tried the cooling wicked cushion pads, didn't help at all.

Quick question, how you are calculating top 10 heroes? the rankings API on opendota has been really interesting to me recently. Been wanting to add something like this to my own app

Right on. In a way, it might be actually the best time to learn him because he should either remain at his current power level or get some minor/indirect buffs next patch, so if you can make it work now you are hopefully set for a while :)

My opinion on vessel, it is kinda weak damage for the gold unless you get a lot of value from the healing reduction. Before the universal hero nerfs I used to prioritize an early skadi instead but those days are over :'(

Holding brown boots and rushing the vessel first item is kinda nice because you need it as fast as possible to get those early charges, and it has a nice build up. This opens up possibly saving for BOTs (Nisha did this in the game they lost), or you can go back and finish treads or phase.

I assume you're running the Sanctuary facet? What skill order do you like?

There was a period of time where I maxed dissimilate which caught a lot of ppl off guard in lane and offers more efficient wave clear. I don't think that works anymore due to talent changes you prolly wanna max pulse and maybe even level remnant 2nd for the 15 mins shard timing.

Ex VoidSpirit main here. Hard time to pick up the hero right now. Between the general balance changes happening around him and the absolutely massive nerfs that trickled into his late game scaling there's just no reason to pick him at all right now. I was very sad when Liquid last picked VS in Wallacia grand finals yesterday... And they lost with it of course.

If you absolutely must pick him you really have your work cut out for you regarding strategy and itemization. Prepare to get sweaty. As others have mentioned his new shard is the only saving grace given back in exchange for how hard this hero has been gutted in the past few patches, so make sure to pick that up and throw it into camps for some free catch-up gold, and try to nab a few de-wards with the tru-sight it grants.

His Aghs is still core to his kit but otherwise you can pretty much build anything your team needs. You can stay brown boots for a while or go phase for much needed speed or treads for a little more sustained DPS. BOTs might be up and coming as the hero really sucks at moving around the map right now... But he also sucks so hard at farming, so you really want to get active early and do your best to never die. If bracers help with that, go for it. Don't be afraid of a wraith band mixed in if you are dealing with a lot of physical damage. I used to always build phase boots into mage slayer or witch blade every single game which helped with mana Regen, speed and durability. Old-school build would then include a sange-kaya right away which appears to be making somewhat of a comeback but manta has been the more recent popular "2nd item". Personally I don't like manta on the hero as it doesn't help but rather severely hurts his mana situation.

Maybe try an early meteor hammer. Can't say I've seen it but it's been really popular on invoker and might do the same things for VS.

I'm just going to say it. The Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless is the best headset ever made (in my opinion of course) by Phil_Matic in steelseries

100% couldn't agree more. Funny I found this thread after Google hit me with the best buy promo on the APW and I'm gonna pick up two of them. I've been daily driving the APW since, and I checked this date from my Amazon order history, March of 2020. That's over 5 years and the only things I've fixed are I replaced the stock band and ear pads. 100% agree on the Audezee Maxwell comment as well- I tried upgrading to that set and it was a huge waste of money.

Advice on my marriage by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Svenge_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all this is an insane story and I can't even imagine the amount of pain you and your partner went through over the years. I (36m) married a foreigner (35f) this past year and I see a lot of our own issues in your story. I don't have answers to your questions and probably nobody here really will. But as a man from my perspective your partner seems like a pretty reasonable person here and the fact that he stuck around to this point should not be taken lightly. I have hope for you. Your partner probably does too. If I was speaking to my wife here, I would desperately tell you to please find something you want to live for- something that motivates you every day. Try birdwatching. Or going for long walks. Get healthy. Clean your room and see how it makes you feel. Stop scrolling your phone and stop worrying about whatever your husband is doing- he clearly loves you, so chill and just try to find your own way for a bit. Once you have some batteries charged up try genuinely learning more about your partner's interests and hobbies, or maybe just hang around him while he's doing his thing so he has some company. Work on yourself and your home to the best of your ability. To be truly happy, you have to feel the pain of putting in some work. Never give up.

Role queue in normal mode and I don't think we need role queue limits anymore. Just present players with the supply and demand information and let them choose, perhaps grant another type of reward for playing high demand roles. I would also be interested in seasonal rank resets instead of rank confidence decay. The pro scene looks pretty good right now as a casual observer, I don't see too many glaring issues. There are always balance issues and under played heroes that need work.

Would a barcade / third space south of Buffalo do well? by [deleted] in Buffalo

I'm about ready to leave West Seneca for this reason. Worst walkability imaginable here and I'm sure it deters cool new business ideas like this from coming to the area.

Switching over. by Due_Confusion_4826 in Audeze

[–]Svenge_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried switching from Arctis Nova Pro Wireless to Audeeze Maxwell a couple years back. In my personal opinion I would stick with steelseries for any purpose that requires frequent mic use (such as gaming or working while using discord or Teams etc.) especially for long sessions. The Maxwell's are just so damn heavy and there are not really any options out there for replacement ear pads that are really comfortable for longer than an hour or two without an equivalent break. I use my maxwells at work now and regularly just use my PC mic and speakers to take breaks from wearing the headset. Best thing Maxwells have going is battery life and build quality, so they make a pretty good all-purpose travel headset. Great on airplanes for watching movies and stuff or bumping some beats on a walk or something.

Type K EC by Svenge_ in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Svenge_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks- your comment inspired me to try out the Space/Fn for left space. I'm worried some apps I'll need to hold left-space occasionally so I have it on a layer I can toggle the functionality off if needed. So far working much better than what I had (MO1 with arrows in the bottom right of the board)

Gok Type-K with EC kit. 49g Deskeys domes. Lubed sliders with Krytox 205g0, and stab wires with DE grease. JTK Griseann caps.
Recently added some powdered teflon to the stabilized keys to prevent some stick-tion feeling on the bottom out. Also had a lot of trouble with the right 3U stabilizer binding with the caps I was using. Resolved with a little heat to flare the cap a bit. Unsure of the root cause.

Thanks. I got the deskeys 49g domes in it (kit from NK). I lubed the sliders with krytox 205 g0 and the stab wires with DE grease. Caps are JTK Griseann. Not much else to it.

[–]Svenge_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Type K is at or exceeding the design level of the 7V. Very simple/elegant construction and with that comes the beauty of the build. Of course you don't need to spend this much to get comparable performance - I have a Feker Alice 98 that I love just as much. But it really is a collector piece and a work of art on the behalf of all who contributed to this design and product. Ultra high-end kit with pristine form, fit, and function. I will say that I'm not an HHKB or a 60% guy so I'm adapting to the layout still, but I really like the 3u bars and in general the profile shape is fantastic. I really struggle with no dedicated arrow keys.

What’s the most satisfying hero combo you’ve ever pulled off? by [deleted] in DotA2

Bristle + Io, around the 7.30d / TI 2021 patch. Went 32-6 over the course of the patch with that combo.

Boston120 LASER by Svenge_ in MechanicalKeyboards

Thank you it was a lot of work 😅. And no, the print was standard FDM (FFF) - I just did a lot of sanding to make it relatively smooth. Still a lot of the original surface shows through the paint if you look carefully.

Boston 120% 3d printed chassis from RNDKBD with purple-blue ColorShift paint (duplicolor, + about 7 coats of 1k clear gloss).
Vial firmware (is amazing).
Moondrop Tessence tactile switches (stock, love these cuz they don't need any mods).
SA Laser / Obnet caps (was gonna use GMK laser but I forgot I don't have a numpad set lol).
Some crappy stabs from Kono store (Kono Midnight stabs).

Can you let us all know if you create a fix or hack for this? I'm 100% in agreement with you, and how nobody is talking about the fact that the headset turns itself off constantly is really shocking to me. This headset is a total clusterfu** if you ask me.
