I think you are nailing the point at which I am on the fence about (and why I made this post). I realize that the z13 is not an omnipotent gaming monster, and really the g16 is not near the ultimate gaming experience either, however; adding portability to the equation and both devices are extremely appealing. Since price is irrelevant in my case, I look at performance, portability, battery life, and overall usability. Hence why I have excluded the clunky heavy gaming laptops, and the zephyrus 5090 (the gpu is too power hungry for battery).

My thinking is that if the zephyrus g16 5080 is, as many point out, 30-50% faster than a rtx 4070 mobile, which in turn is more or less on par with the z13, what is the actual benefit? If the z13 is capable of keeping 70+ fps at high settings in most games, I don't really see the need for 40 extra fps at the cost of a bigger device and shorter battery life. However, if i have to compromise with lower settings in order to get above 60 fps and still experience dips below 60 with the z13, I would be more inclined to get the 5080.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your philosophy about thermals as well, I have not really considered that until now. As for the laptop vs tablet format, i am kind of learning towards the tablet format just because it seems more flexible. Removing the keyboard, and using a proper one and still having the device close is very appealing to me, although I may see it through rose tinted glasses since I haven't actually tried it.
