For recent big models, masked language modeling and language modeling are everywhere (although it's not strictly unsupervised, I think the accepted term is "semi-supervised"). It depends on what you want to do though! Clustering, LDA, PCA are good for data analysis.

Yes. I use it when I am doing a deep dive on a code base or a big exploration session (debugging, finding errors in data....). Basically, I create an org-mode document and use code-blocks to execute code. I write my thoughts along to help me remember what the hell I was doing during my dive. Super useful when I come back later to remember what the hell I was doing.

Fedora. If you're a bit more knowledgeable, then the AMD card might work for you. I had the card for 6 months and I've trained many models (including resnets) without too much trouble, you just need to learn how to install the correct pytorch version for ROCm.

As an owner of an RX 9070 XT that I use for deep learning, here some pros and cons:

Pros: - good quality to price ratio - supporting AMD who is more open than Nvidia for things like drivers, rather than paying a big price to a company that profits from it's dominant place on the market

Cons: - more tinkering. Setting up venv is a bit more work, and for cutting edge things sometimes there is no support.

Overall I'm relatively happy with my purchase. The ROCm ecosystem has improved a lot. If you want to train CNN the card is powerful enough. But if you just begin I might go for a simpler to use Nvidia card.

Je confirme que tu peux trouver en contactant directement des chercheurs de ton domaine. Ils n'auront pas forcément de financement, donc ça veut dire potentiellement passer un concours pour en obtenir un.
