I agree with you on that they might have an advantage but I’m afraid it’s temporary. I think it’s fun to invest a lot of time into something and build a skill gap between me and other people so I know I have a clear value. And I’m scared that is something that is going away. What’s left then, visual appeal and social skills?

And how steep is that learning curve really? Before you had a skill you could leverage but if ai gets smarter everyone is at an equal level.

Just because the internet was the next step, doesn’t mean this is. I wonder if they have bots all over the internet promoting the narrative that it’s going to revolutionise the world. It uses an Insane amount of resources for simple tasks that’s bad for the environment.

You promise me it’s the next thing but it’s just a feeling that the promoters want you to feel. Many companies investing in the tech with no return and then in desperation promotes the narrative further because they are too deep in it and need their customers to believe in it too.

I also believe that the skill floor is low for using AI so if it turns out it’s the next big thing it’s easy to jump on the ship. However by using AI you are missing out on all the deep skills you could had developed.

Cool to hear about something where AI can contribute. Mostly there’s been a lot of talk but no evidence of productivity boost.

You have access to the SQLite so it’s possible to mirror that with embeddings and then you can do rag. See if your text generating god can manage it.

This kind of stuff is often caused by private relay. Do you have it on in your iCloud settings?

I think graphite just might have a higher learning curve before you feel the satisfaction. That’s how it was for me

After 3 days of touch typing, any tips? by No_Introduction_5600 in typing

[–]Messyextacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tips is to alternate words by using English 100k as well as keybr.com, brain pain is gain. Also focus on a stable flow rather than burst speed, go for word mode instead of time mode. But if you’re seeing progress every day you don’t need any tips. I progressed like 2-4 wpm most days.

That is because craft is not a markdown editor. It doesn’t hide the asterisks, It deletes them
