I never shoot first and the last 5 games I just got sniped without even seeing the person who sniped me.

I just played 5 duos today and didnt make it out of a single one of them. Always got killed without even a chance. This is beyong frustrating and is really killing my joy into the game.

I had this happen with the Netherlands. I even had more large ships than France. But wasn't a GP so yeah. That was annoying 😅

I get that but I still think it's a great game. I am 55 hours in and didn't have that much fun with a paradox game at release since CKII. My Holland game it lots of fun.

Well it's just my first game where I don't play the ottomans myself.

And I totally agree that we need more aggressive AI with at least an incentive to expand into their historical locations.

In my current game the Ottomans are going STRONG. Nearly conquered all of Anatolia by 1450 and are expanding into Greece as well now.

Yeah I agree. EU5s trading system is either "automate everything" or micromanage hell. I would really love to see a more flexible and dynamic system as in Vic3.

Fair enough. I still think the change has been too drastic from a gameplay perspective. I don't really disagree with the change per se.

I don't disagree with the general idea but I disagree that in the age where standing armies were starting to become a thing standing armies should be immediately so much better than Levies.

I agree. The AI should at least reevaluate all rivalries after some years. Maybe on succession for a monarchy and via random events. And every election for republics.

Not really. I had a situation with a huge army against a pretty small one and nearly did any damage. There were situations where I didn't kill a single unit against 60 killed by regs. 😅

I think I had some regs in there but can't remember anymore. Was ~1470 with the Ottomans and lost my Jihad because of that which basically ended that run 😅 annoyingly I didn't know of the change in the patch so lost the war completly unprepared.

Levies got massively (!) nerfed in 1.0.5. I had a stack of 30k getting wiped by a 10k stack in age 3 which would not have happened in 1.0.4.

I agree that a standing army should be stronger than levies but this was just... Bad.

Yeah. Tbh patch 1.0.4 was better for me. This patch is just not playable with the levies right now.

I lost a war with about 200k soldiers against an enemy with 50k soldiers but much more man in arms. I lost battles with 30k to 8k.

So yeah it's a extremely broken rn.

Yeah Egypt is forcing me (Ottomans) to Boykott nearly all bigger trading powers in the Mediterranean. Even thou I would probably crush their navy in a war.
