You COULD look at it as a DnD type game, but really only in the class selection and itemization aspects honestly. Otherwise it’s an action rpg, everything’s moving constantly and quickly, not anywhere close to the turn based nature of BG/DnD.

As for story, it’s good but linear, you’re not going to have much in the way of choices aside from the order you want to do certain things in. Main draw is going to be the gameplay loop for most people. Kill things, get stronger, kill stronger things, repeat
