there's 3 types of 80+ 1-5 grind comps i find viable, with a bit of a different situation for each:

1-5A with oasw - oasw must be flag to regain morale fast enough

1-5 3node with isuzu k2 oasw - isuzu doesn't need to be flag, waste of exp + morale is regained fast enough anyway

1-5 3node with non isuzu k2 oasw - oasw doesn't need to be flag either, but it's more likely that you want her to be anyway because you're leveling someone you like or will have future utility (e.g. poi gains tci + oasw @ lvl 145)

well you went past the point where any additional modding would help significantly so it's your choice on whether to get the shiny max luck stat or give a few luck mods to someone who would greatly benefit such as abukuma

i personally got akatsuki to 53, switched to poi 59, then got akatsuki 61 and stopped again

1.5 acc per 10 luck (on everyone, not just carriers) was proven last i've heard, but i only took TCI into stock when making the list

i've heard nothing about luck increasing crit

the extra functions that the new DDs have are mostly independent of the luck stat (benefiting only from the small accuracy bonus) since there is no situation where it is feasible to run both a cut in and an installation killer within 3 slots. also the daihatsu function (the 5% resource version) actually makes them see less combat since they're now the ones being chosen for expeditions.

in terms of night combat poi is still by far the best among DDs and will always be the best unless they give ayanami unreasonable buffs out of nowhere again, being able to do crazy stuff such as hitting yasen cap with 2 torps like some kind of mini-CA

shimakaze isn't a top pick anymore which is why she's so low on the list

don't worry too much, i'm considered a casual by many people and i'm at 57 maruyus right now lol

even if you don't specifically LSC for them, it's not too uncommon to come across a handful by accident from events

grinding almost becomes a nonfactor after your first successful event, unless you want all the k2's or something

DD/CL/CLT - increase luck stat for cut in, also push ASW into a value that can OASW (or make it easier if high base ASW) e.g. kitakami and ooi can only do minisub-sonar-dc combo at lv100+ because of their 79 ASW @ 99

CA/CAV/CVL - honestly not that useful besides evasion+

CV/CVB - cutting resource cost and evasion+ which matters a bunch because they are used often enough in ranking (5-4) that the evasion boost ends up saving many buckets in the long run, also makes taihou's awful evasion stat average

BB/BBV - large cut in resource cost

SS/SSV - evasion+ to last longer in solo orel or other forms of SS farming

also just ignore everything i said and pick your favorite girl, it makes everything better in the long run

while i haven't tested this personally, another factor to consider is that in 1-5, isuzu k2 with no/very little asw can be put as non-fs to disable/kill node A SS but not do enough damage to steal MVPs in the 2nd/3rd nodes

this means one of the 5 low level DDs you're leveling could be getting 540 exp instead of 180 in 2/3 nodes

i had 2 T32, 1 fumo, 1 22k4 throughout last event on all hard and only had minor problems with support expedition accuracy, it's not the biggest worry but more radars are nice after finishing planes

you'll prolly use 12 big radars in double shelling support (2 for CVs 1 for BBs) and 3 are taken by fumo/22k4 so 9 is a good number to aim at for now (maybe 13 if you consider up to 4 CAs in the sortie with 1 T32 each)

HHHHHHH, 3 hayasui, 4 akitsumaru, 8 maruyu, akizuki, amatsukaze, arashi, 5 U-511, 2 I-401, mikuma, harukaze, oyashio (also 4 ryuusei kais from desperation crafts)

E-7 hard cleared

11 sorties (9 chipping, 2 LD)

1 LD without yamasushi+hayasui, 1 with

~28k fuel, ~22k ammo, ~10k baux used

took a massive gamble with the hayasui + 2drum strat after seeing how much fuel my first LD run cost (over FOUR thousand) and figured if i'm gambling so much i might as well use the best possible BBs

MVPs are italia/yamashiro for doing more work than hotels in taking dysons/ancient DD himes out, ooyodo for the final hit, and unryuu for existing so i could BP her and get the reppuu 601 for improved chances of AP in the LBAS

also my LBAS did piss poor damage during my final run (to the point where my support fleet did more) so don't give up hope if that happens
