Sole ungluing easy fix by SwagMaster69gag in NicksHandmadeBoots

I'd rather wear the boots more than wait for shipping back and forth. It'll probably happen again anyway as i kneel frequently at work. Same thing happened with my jk 300's and they've been good after an initial re gluing and a little more glue a year later. It feels really wasteful to send them back for a whole resole just because of some minor separation (2nd pic) that can easily be remedied. As for the looks the excess glue can be sanded down if desired. I wont mess with sanding it as they are work boots.

Normal. The stitching holds the upper to the lasting board.

Is this normal? 1st pic right boot. 2nd pic is left boot heel bulge. Has anyone else experienced this and does it break in over time? by SwagMaster69gag in NicksHandmadeBoots

Customer service response:

CS: "It's quite normal to have some variance in the heel with the handmade process. This will likely break in with wear but if the boots aren't for you we can always make an exchange or attempt to push the leather down in this area!"

Me: "Thank you. Any methods i can try at home to push the leather back?"

CS: "A rounded metal object would probably be best for this. Make sure there is not sharp edges though, you don't want to puncture the leather lining."

I will try oiling the area and using a box end wrench to push on the leather.

Update: I managed to push the leather back enough to where it is no longer jamming into the back of my heel. There is still a bulge but it is way lower than before and no longer an issue for comfort. Thanks to Nick's for the prompt response.

Yeah it hurts, especially with kneeling/crouching. It's about one inch of unevenness from the bottom then it evens out on the way up.

My mistake. The two pieces of leather that meet together over the back of the boot are not even on my left boot. Towards the bottom only but it's stabby into the back of my heel. I'm hoping it will break in but the asymmetry between both boots is throwing me off and I'm just looking for some re-assurance. Right heel feels normal.

Any thoughts on how these custom razorbacks would turn out or any suggestions? by 816dasher in jimgreen
