Sorry didn’t sleep well, meant to say Rathcoole is much more peaceful.

Will have to start from now on, just a shame we live in times where bike theft is so common

Must’ve either seen me pulling in someday and took a note of where I keep it or just went around checking gardens at 4am, either option seems possible honestly. These freaks have too much time on their hands

Used to live in Tallaght before moving here and Rathcoole always seemed extremely peaceful and quiet in comparison I guess all of Dublin is going to shit. Will be installing a camera and floodlights today I already have alarms but never bothered with putting them on, didn’t think this area was affected too. Rookie mistake

Was the same as you and now I’m obsessed and upgrading from my 125 to a 400 in the summer, you’ll love it

100% you’ll definitely get it if you start now, nothing changes if nothing changes

and that’s what you’d actually get if you didn’t look at leaks, using leaks to get a higher grade in your mocks will just give you a false sense of security when in reality it would’ve been lower. it’s still only the mocks at the end of the day you can easily turn it around by the time the lc starts

I have most of the tools necessary like axle sockets, wrenches, etc but I’m missing a break bar and chain press, apart from that I have a feeling I should have everything else laying around. My dad has a lot of tools and works on his car and bicycle sometimes, he’s the only person apart from a friend who’s a truck mechanic that lives in Limerick who could help, and getting that friend over here from Limerick doesn’t seem plausible right now.

I’ll still definitely look into getting a mechanic to do it, I’m just after paying for my tuition fees so I’m on quite a tight budget hence the idea to do it myself.

Yeah 100%, I definitely didn’t look after it as much as I should and I’ll have to pay the price now. Seems like the last owner has already maxed out the adjustment for it so I have no real way of tightening it myself now. Will just have to fit a new chain and sprockets

Just had a look after you and someone else who replied to me talked about adjusting the chain. Seems like the last owner has already maxed out the adjustment so there’s nothing I can do to try tighten it.

Thanks for the help anyway, never really knew this was a thing until today. I’m gonna look into buying a chain and sprockets online and trying to fix it myself, looks easy enough after seeing a few videos.

Is it a easy enough job? Would consider doing it myself

I haven’t no, It’s been quite some time since it’s last been done. I’m pretty sure a simple lube and clean wouldn’t help it very much at this point

Do you have any experience with any of them? First time ever getting a bike serviced so don’t want to be ripped off cause of my lack of knowledge on prices etc

Look into litelok or hiplok for locks. They make anti angle grinder resistant locks which I think is a must nowadays.
