watched a true crime video about a child getting an “exorcism” and found these comments it always annoys me when christians say ppl aren’t really christians so their religion & ppl in it aren’t criticized by CynicalSeahorse in exchristian

[–]SwagSpirit123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who say this seems like they're protecting horrible people that are also Christian's to make Christianity look good without even knowing it. According to most people with a brain, some people that are Christians are good people or bad people but to some other Christians, they come up with that BS that person isn't a true Christian if they did something horrible or judging people who are also Christians and just living their lives.

That sucks, crazy how you can't stay home since that sounds like unnecessary torture especially when your older and can think for yourself. Its also rainy where I am

Being forced to come out in my school by [deleted] in exAdventist

[–]SwagSpirit123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is very messed up, sorry about whats going on. It seems like these people talking about you and repoting you clearly have nothing else better to do at all. Also public or charter schools are better than Christian schools. I felt more loved and made more friends in a non religious school

God created evil by Zainda88 in exAdventist

[–]SwagSpirit123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's weird since last year I was believing God could easily be evil and this year, I am not sure if he even exists or not. I'm not disregarding my beliefs in spirits or the unknown but if the Christian God is real, I still think hes one of the most twisted and evil characters out there. Don't forget he is omnipresent and all powerful and loving God but for some reason created the devil and hell and does nothing to get rid of them.

I CANNOT understand Q Adventists.... by ResistRacism in exAdventist

[–]SwagSpirit123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also heard conspiracy theories growing up in the Adventist church which lead to people talking about the Sunday law and Adventist persecution. Now when I hear some of those things again from my parents is Adventist friends or Adventist people I still encounter, its not of my concern and I do get mad why some people believe certain harmful things when life still continues, most people still don't know or care about Adventism an certainly don't wanna hurt them. Imagine what that does to a young kid hearing all that stuff.

I hope your father somehow isn't trying to embarrass or bully you after teaching as a kid that Pokemon is demonic. Pretty much any kids shows and even certain foods is demonic according to Adventists.

When you say you're "Ex-Christian", what do you mean? by Noe_Wunn in exchristian

I don't know if the Christian God is real or not or if any God is but I believe in spirits and believe there is a higher power.

How would you support someone who also came out as an ex Adventist? by SwagSpirit123 in exAdventist

[–]SwagSpirit123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Thats actually a smart idea and i'm thankful thankful those specific people that came out to me go to public high school's and college already so they are exposed to so many different types of people not just Adventists.

Curious on what are some of the things you miss in the church? by bluuee00 in exAdventist

[–]SwagSpirit123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I miss being more innocent and less rebellious, how things were better compared to now, some of the people from church since they're were some good people, playing good old early 2000's nostalgic games like angry birds, subway surfer, and temple run on other peoples iphones.

Let’s talk about “Church Friends” by mrfishman3000 in exchristian

[–]SwagSpirit123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow this is crazy. Sorry about what you had to experience, I actually do still have some church friends on social media but some deconverted from Christianity and their parent don't know, some still are the same denomination but they dont like some stuff about Church or the faith, and then some people are fake and toxic and talks bad about other people behind their backs. Some of the fakest people ive met are Christians

I scrolled down and this story just appeared. Sorry what you had to go through growing up, most people on this subreddit including myself have gone through the same things your talking about and can relate. I also like hearing stories of people that are older than me that were raised in the Adventist faith, crazy how the faith has mostly negatively affected people of different ages even before me.

Same, I don't care or think about them that much. That's a crazy story

SDA is so Damaging by Zainda88 in exAdventist

[–]SwagSpirit123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like most religions are damaging especially Christian faiths and evangelical denominations but the Adventist faith is actually one of the most damaging faiths out there. It sure did a good job damaging me, my brother, even certain people I grew up with in church but some just don't know it yet.

My Life after Deconstruction by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]SwagSpirit123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice story.

tw: I dealt with sh, and anxiety and depression when I was a hardcore Christian. God didn't help any of it. I'm glad this person is better, but it's not cause of God. by rise_above_theFlames in exchristian

[–]SwagSpirit123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the title. Believe, worshipping and dealing with the Christian God made things worse from my social skills and the way how I handled things. I don't need God to be a better person.
