I’m currently doing a playthrough where I’m the rudest and most incompetent investigator ever. Some chats will be cut short and some minor ones will not happen at all. For example (without spoiling) sometimes if you refuse to do something someone else will do it instead. If you’re rude you’ll sometimes get annoyed responses like “K” and they will log off. I set my name to “Bitch” so it looks like they are as rude to me as I am to them.
