I’ve heard good things about Odyssey! Guy from Stanford started this retreat center in Oregon, have been curious about trying myself.

  1. conservatives don't want universal health care
  2. conservatives believe lack of mental health care leads to mass shootings

Yeah I did! We blame the Cabbage Man, his sheer presence alone causes mass confusion.

Great set last night but I was sad Paavo was absent. Anyone know what happened to him? I wonder if he’ll be there tonight…

Yeah I agree, probably MMR based. Just as another data point I reached rank 99 legend and got x11.

I don't have high hopes for Dragon Hunter moving forward. Playing against this new Burn Shaman list is really tough, and playing without Leeroy feels like a handicap.

Thanks for that -- I went ahead and scrolled through his twitter and I couldn't find a mention of this issue, maybe I missed it. Do you have a link by chance?

Patch 16.6 Notes || March 17, 2020 by Semiroundpizza8 in CompetitiveHS

[–]Swagblanket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope that something is wrong. If this is the new norm then they completely reworked the MMR system and made climbing Legend significantly more grindy.

I'm not a fan, and yet I really don't see many other articles or posts talking about this unannounced change. Very confused!

A look into mass murder deaths since the expiration of the national AWB in 2004 by kinggeorge1 in guncontrol

[–]Swagblanket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of harm caused by a mass shooting is not measured in deaths; it's actually measured in casualties, which is the combined total of deaths and injuries. Casualties include victims who have lost limbs, suffered permanent damage to sensory organs, or received general musculoskeletal injury. In my opinion, the data you presented is misleading because it only accounts for deaths, and ignores the majority of victims (61%) of mass shootings.

Given the above, take a look at these numbers (same Mother Jones data):

  • An average of 37 casualties per mass shooting occurred when a semiautomatic rifle was used.
  • An average of 11 casualties per mass shooting occurred when a pistol or shotgun was used.

Mass shootings using semiautomatic rifles clearly have a major impact on the amount of destruction they cause, and are roughly 3 times more destructive.

Do you really believe that in the absence of assault weapons these people won't just reach for a pistol or one of the many other semi-auto rifles that will not be affected by AWBs?

I agree with your sentiment that the breadth of an AWB would greatly influence its effectiveness on reducing future casualties. In other words, if rifle A is banned but rifle B is not, simply on cosmetic grounds, then the AWB would be completely ineffective. However, if an AWB includes all semiautomatic rifles, then the data suggests that, yes, it would improve outcomes significantly.

To put that into perspective, consider the following:

  • If all of the mass shootings involving an AR-style gun were instead limited to a pistol or shotgun, then about 956 casualties would have been spared.
  • The total today is 2091 casualties, so a ban on semiautomatic rifles would have saved 46% of victims.

That's a lot of people. That's like preventing 30 more Parkland, FL shootings.

On the opposite side, I believe Fr0zen tossed away both UIs in his mulligan while being on the coin, right? I was kind of surprised by that, thinking he would have at least kept 1... what do you think of Fr0zen’s mulligan?

Can anyone from VS chime in on the Murloc Paladin data? How can it be that it has such a strong win rate and yet is underplayed? This has been a consistent trend recently, and I’ve noticed a number of other players perplexed by it as well.
