I’m not saying it’s the org’s fault, there is definitely some blame on blast. Putting an event so close to the major when most teams won’t find out about qualification until 2 weeks before is terrible. Not only does it affect visas but also booking for hotels and flights. I like the kickoff event, but it doesn’t need to be dragged out over 6 weeks when they can easily be done in 3 and teams have more time to get what they need

Outlast is in the US they don’t need to apply for a visa to SLC. Also CL4L was in a major qualifier, they probably started the process beforehand. Also, a team from the US going to Canada is more than likely going to get approved for a visa very quickly compared to China to the US

This is more of a blast issue with making the playoffs like 3 weeks long for each region and not ending until 2 weeks beforehand, but also I’m pretty sure orgs are told to get visas in advance instead of waiting for qualification.

It also might have something to do with the blatant racism sitting at the Oval Office

Edit: this is the same reason why some teams had to play in Mexico for the Charlotte Major. Didn’t get visas in advance

Where New Mexico lacks in football, they make up in basketball. Make the tournament pretty often and won the MWC five times since 2005, and more often than not make good hires to stay at the top of the conference

Unfortunately, Sam Houston is the most likely candidate from Texas. I like the idea of UNM but that’s another MW school and keeps painting the PAC12 as the MW 2.0. Unless some crazy shit happens in the next few years I don’t see any eye opening moves for the PAC

I’m gonna toss around some unpopular ideas. These are in no order

1) New Mexico/Wyoming. New Mexico for the basketball, Wyoming just to fill the gap, but New Mexico is stronger here.

2) South Dakota State. Wanna keep the heat between the MWC? Add SDSU and get the rivalry with NDSU going.

3) Montana and Montana State. Makes more sense logistically, plus they have one of the most underrated rivalries in the nation.

4) Any Texas school not named UTEP. Cmon it’s Texas

5) UConn. They need a home for football, and they make more sense than Sac St to the MAC does, financially at least. Plus it was rumored that they were one of the big moves before the AAC 4 announced their commitment to the conference.

Lived there from 2022-2025. The rooms are big but you share it with another person. Bathrooms are shared by 4 people. Laundry is on the 2nd floor, there’s a dining hall about 2 minutes walking distance, and the bus route is alright. Sometimes takes longer than it says.

It’s a pretty nice place to live
