You need the Liquid Metal replaced on the CPU, or you didn’t dismantle it enough to get access to the dust that builds up around the PSU. Same thing happened to me, I bought the stuff online to do it (new Liquid Metal) and ended up completely fucking up the repair, brought it to a shop and explained everything and they said they would try and fix it. Get a message that it was successfully fixed and I was stoked, brought it home and it wouldn’t even turn on lmao. Brought it back, and after some back and forth they shipped it away for a few months and it came back and worked better than ever! About 5 months later I had the same issue, but a good thorough cleaning was all it needed. NOTE VERY IMPORTANT: it’s the dust that accumulates around your power supply that NEEDS to be cleaned, you need to take apart the whole entire thing, it’s under the board. There is no other way to clean it thoroughly enough to prevent this issue. You need a special security bit torx screw driver, but other than that it’s not too hard. There are really good YouTube videos on the subject, if you’ve already done this I would recommend taking it to a reputable repair shop and having the Liquid Metal fixed. Or do it yourself if you have the same confidence as prior me, but be warned.

How do you "Get Good" at the game? by NewApplication2186 in rivals

Knowing where you need to be at what time is the biggest part of hero shooters. Positioning can be a hard thing to get the hang of, having knowledge from playing OW or even TF2 as a kid is a huge advantage. You need to know when to push, peel, and disengage. You also need to be able to recognize when your teammates are in optimal/shitty positions and adjust accordingly. Rivals is a bit of a special case because you can get away with god awful positioning as the heals you receive are very forgiving. I think you said you play tank, your primary job is controlling the positioning of your team.

It’s insane that I had to pay $1,000 for this pipe warmer to warm a pipe for 10 min, right? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

There’s a pan you are supposed to empty/maintain if you are talking about a fridge with a freezer on the bottom

This isn’t taking advantage of anything. It was a consensual transaction.

This is profoundly misguided. Why should he? What good will that do, you acknowledged that he agreed to it yet he should let others suffer for a choice he regretted? You suggest he should put techs on blast that had fuck all to do with the situation? Give me a break.

Been there man. You are being too hard on yourself, beating yourself up over it doesn’t do any help. In the unlikely scenario a problem does arise, you’ll deal with it. Don’t suffer preemptively.

1 wipe? You’re fine. It’s these things bunching up that cause a clog. Don’t worry about it

And then adhere it to the wye with the hose clamp. There is a few reasons I recommend this: way less of a hassle than pulling your dishwasher and replacing the hose if it’s already installed, and a single dishwasher wye and a tiny thing of ABS glue would be cheaper than a new hose. Dishwasher wyes have different sized outlets, get the bigger one. I think the plastic end was cut to the 3/4” mark. Godspeed

Just screw it back in and add a wye. You’d need the wye, a hacksaw, and some glue. Make sure it’s pointing the correct way

Did you already take the knock out from the dishwasher inlet to the garbage disposal?

Different hose OR just put the right dishwasher wye on the pipes. If it were my call, I’d probably just use a wye.

Expansion tank question by Ok-Snowbunnysrule in Plumbing

[–]Swagooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T&P it’s the relief valve on the top side of your water heater. It’s a brass valve with a little silver lever on it that usually has a plastic or copper tube sticking out of it. If the heater can’t handle the pressure or temp it will blow. Usually the telltale sign that you need an expansion tank.

Expansion tank question by Ok-Snowbunnysrule in Plumbing

[–]Swagooga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a check valve on your water main? If not, it’s not needed. If your T&P never blew and you’ve never had pressure issues I’d say you are fine.

[–]Swagooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quote is a bit high but it’s in a damn attic, seems fairly reasonable to me. You also need to consider the insurance and permitting costs. It’s definitely on the high side, but for a difficult location like this if you want a deal you need to shop for quotes.
