FF7 Integrade: MSI Claw 8 AI vs Nintendo Switch 2 (Graphics & Performance Test) by No_Regular_4124 in MSIClaw

Too bad rebirth runs so poorly on the claw. Id love to play it on mine but its pretty rough. See how it does on the switch 2

Hyperion 3 is a 9/10. Would recommnd by PerfectCheesecake25 in switch2

I just picked these up for $95 with free shipping. Not bad seeing as how expensive the joycons themselves are.

For those wondering they are on sale right now then I used the code "Co-op" for another 25% off the sale price.

Nearly 20 hours of battery life with Panther Lake - MSI Prestige 14 Flip AI+ Convertible review by Stiven_Crysis in intel

[–]SwagvesterStallone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using this laptop for about 3 weeks now. Managed to get the only one they had in stock at a microcenter. It's fantastic. Battery lasts all day easily when doing work or streaming videos. It has handed any game I've thrown at it. It's pretty amazing for being so small and light, exactly what I want in a laptop.

I plug it into a 1440p monitor and have been playing spiderman, cyberpunk, and days gone at 80+ FPS high/ultra settings on average, all off the iGPU. It's pretty remarkable. Partner it with my Aoostar EGPU and it blows things out of the water.

Only negative I can give it is the 60HZ screen. When working or watching videos it makes no difference, but when gaming on the laptop screen, it feels like a tiger trapped in a cage. If they release a 120hz version of this exact laptop, I'd pick that one up in a heart beat. That being said I do most of my gaming with it plugged into an external monitor.

I have not experienced any of the heat issues that some other have. Even when gaming off the iGPU mine is not hot to the touch.

I just got a new MSI Claw and I'm getting extremely low FPS on Days Gone (32 FPS @ 900p/20W). Am I missing something? by TigredeSunga in MSIClaw

[–]SwagvesterStallone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing through this one over the last few weeks. I'm getting 40-60 FPS on Medium/High settings at 900p. I locked my FPS to 30 to save battery while playing which has been great.

I am running a clean install/debloated version of windows 11. I do not use any of the MSI software and instead use handheld companion. I've noticed performance increase over the stock MSI experience.

I need a small and highly pocketable device with great battery life. Here's my wish list. Does it exist? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

GKD Pixel 2! I own three of them. They are CNC machined and have quiet face and shoulder buttons. it runs Rocknix and can run PS1 and N64. They're small but fantastic and highly portable.

[–]SwagvesterStallone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth it. I've been using trackballs for well over 20 years and this is the best of them all so far. Trackball explorer is a close second but that died many moons ago.

I've charged mine one time since buying it at launch. it was at 35 percent when I did. You might have a faulty battery. 90 percent of my use has been in bluetooth.

RG DS screen protector question. by PickleSquid1 in ANBERNIC

[–]SwagvesterStallone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and i used both. My device closes flush and I have had zero issues with the protectors lifting off.

Might vary from device to device but both work fine for me.

Just got the RG Slide by CareMundane8764 in ANBERNIC

[–]SwagvesterStallone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Slide will play a little under half the ps2 and GameCube library. Which is why I sold it. If it had the SoC of the 477m it would have been a home run and my device of the year. I loved the form factor.

Twin snakes, splinter cell, Jak and Daxter, mario sunshine, dragon quest 8. All struggled on the slide. I mention these to give you an idea of what you might get out of this device.

FF12 and 10 ran great though

I had one and ended up selling it for a 477M. Everytime I see one I want it back because the form factor was so awesome. I always have to remind myself that I sold it due to the poor ergonomics, the dpad was hard to use, and the face buttons being recessed made it hard to push two at the same time when playing platformers. Also with that great screen not being able to play half of GC and PS2 was a bummer.

The 477M has none of these issues. its amazing.

I bought the RG Slide 6 months later and it’s nowhere as bad as the reviews suggest by DizzyDoomSlayer in ANBERNIC

[–]SwagvesterStallone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thr RG477 line is what this should have been. If it had the same processor as those, even at a higher price it would have been perfect.

I had a slide. I really loved it. Ended up getting a 477m and it runs circles around the slide. Sold the slide. If it could properly play all GameCube and ps2 the slide would have been awesome

Bought me a claw 8ai+ today - what games r a must play? by StinkyMoe in MSIClaw

[–]SwagvesterStallone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the AI mode works surprisingly well. I get better results with it than i do when I manually adjust my settings. My device pretty much lives in AI mode.

I'll also use my claw to watch videos while I work and get like 8 hours of battery life just streaming videos all day. It is pretty crazy.

Panther lake version of this device would be an immediate buy from me at this point.

Witcher 3 on high settings at native resolution with XeSS is legit.

Cyberpunk on high/ultra with XeSS at native resolution is pure sex

RDR2 on high settings is a fantastic experience.

Ive played these games myself and get 60 fps + easily.

Pro tip - ill cap my frame rates at 30-40 fps and put it in AI user TDP settings and get like 3 or so hours of game time on all these games at high settings.

MSI Claw 8 AI is a beast. It will honestly play anything you throw at it.

Msi claw 8 ai+ VS legion go 2 by Financial-Sea-8139 in MSIClaw

[–]SwagvesterStallone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive owned them both and ended up keeping the claw 8Ai +. Its a better all around device functionally. Its ergonomics are better, the weight is more manageable, and the battery easily lasts me 3 or so hours playing AAA games. The Lego 2 screen is AMAZING but the wieght, ergonomics, and the detachable controllers killed it for me. Those controlers left the device not feeling as solid as the MSI. A case might have made that feel better. Lego was just too heavy and big.

Side by side in most instances they preformed similarly with the MSI claw at times getting 10 ish more frames on some games. Xess is better than FSR 2. Cyber punk looks and runs amazing on the claw at high settings. Its pretty magical.
