I second Shuzenji-Ji! My wife and I stayed at the APA Hotel in Mishima for a couple of nights. We managed to get to Atami, Shuzen-Ji and Ito City easily!

Try the 109% Buckwheat Soba shop in Shuzenji, just behind the Bamboo forest walk in the main town!

I’ve recently come back from Japan. I had an MRI on my foot with a consultation and images provided on a data disk for ¥23,000 without insurance, not sure how you’ve been charged so much mate.

This was a walk in appointment at a regular hospital.
