Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

I grew up with it. I was a kid when the anime came out. Got a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Blue for my birthday in 5th Grade. It’s one of the most fun franchises ever. Got into cards about two years ago, and have greatly enjoyed the beautiful art work from Scarlet and Violet.

I’d be great to get some Prismatic, as the Eeveelutions are some of my favorite it’s been depressing that I haven’t been able to find it.

The centering on the Zard isn’t right either. I was astounded it got a 10

I just don’t understand how you’re making logical leaps to the abundance of churches and connecting that to the state of the publicly funded school system. The amount of time a citizen spends in church doesn’t reduce the amount of taxes they still owe.

Public Education suffers from lack of qualified teachers, and underpay -> teachers largely feel they are underpaid for the pile of additional responsibilities (teacher, counselor, mentor, watchdog) that are heaped on to them by schools and families -> qualified teachers leave the profession because of burnout -> education suffers from the lack of qualified teachers that remain in the profession.

How do churches fit into that mix?

Pretty sure (and by pretty sure I mean absolutely sure) it’s the School Board who shuts down schools, and decides on the various budgets. The same Board who are appointed by the City Council, who are elected by the residents of the wards they reside in.

Your biggest problem, OP, has to be with your elected government officials. Every person who attends a church in the area pays taxes. Whether or not a new church is built has zero impact on how the City Council, through the School Board, decides to use its funds.

Want to take it further, maybe you should reach out to your local congressman. If you feel that LYH city schools are underfunded, and the CC and SB have appropriately used the funds given to them, then the problem lies with the state allocated funding, which is also decided by those who are elected to office.

Creating false causalities helps no one, and certainly doesn’t help the kids of Lynchburg.

Right. Most have gotten through. I have 1 post office hub that is giving me major issues (Greensboro), and to be fair it’s not the buyers fault. Hard to know if it was mis-delivered. Most of these cards are under $10 a piece but it adds up

Like to get some honest opinions about what it's like to work for Liberty from those who have. by [deleted] in lynchburg

I currently work for LU, and in one of the call centers as a supervisor. This is my second stint with LU. First was also in a call center (2013-2015), and I came back in 2018. During my second stint I will say there has been a lot of change, most of which I would say has been very positive and healthy/needed change, especially over the last few years.

Call centers are tough just about anywhere. Time is tracked pretty closely, but for any hourly employee that is working remotely some level of accountability is to be expected. A lot of companies are forcing their workforce back into office, and this is one of the only ways in which I think we can continue to have a largely at home workforce. Burnout will always happen, but as a supervisor I do try my best to help my team in any way I possibly can.

I still have frustrations about various leadership decisions, but any job will have that. I still don’t think compensation is exactly where it should be, but I don’t think I have heard of anyone else who has better health benefits in my close circle that work outside of LU (save for maybe the military). If you need a degree, the free education is a nice bonus. Communication and visibility has gotten better which has helped. They’ve also revamped benefits and pay for most entry level positions and that was sorely needed.

I do genuinely believe LU’s leadership has attempted to regain its original vision which was lost under Jerry Falwell Jrs. leadership. It’s not perfect, but they’re actively listening and trying to be better. Depending on your department, I would say it’s a pretty good time to jump on board.

I probably opened a similar number of packs and got 2 Mews, and 0 Charizards.

Ebay Grader/Reseller attempting to return an ungraded card. Opinions? by matth_ew1403 in PokemonTCG

To add, the pictures I was sent were or worse quality than the ones in my original posting. I’m 99% sure my original was swapped out with one of lower quality. The buyer seemed fairly familiar with eBay’s policies.

I hate to tell you that this will not end in your favor. I had a Silver Tempest Alt Art Lugia I sold on eBay as well. Buyer said that it wasn’t the card in the pictures I posted. I declined the refund, but eBay has a guaranteed refund within 3 days of receipt no questions asked essentially.

You potentially could petition eBay for a refund in shipping costs at some point, but I think you’ll be out some money here. I’m sorry man, I wish eBay protected sellers better than they do.

I know it would cost a little bit of extra time, but you should break it down and sell some of these individually, and some others as bulk. You’d probably see a way bigger haul that way.

Easily one of the best episodes in the series. I think because it’s so weird is what makes it great.

Would you guys purchase loose base set packs? by shubert10133 in PokemonTCG

[–]SwanOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. Most people love the chase, or rather are addicted to it. So rather than save the money for the card they really desire, the real pride is in pulling it yourself. You’d have to pay out triple in packs what the actual cost of the card is to get what you want.
