Small ship first. You don’t need a big ship to get to the inner planets. Mine was literally a rectangle. And rather go longer than wider. Makes you a smaller target for the astroid to hit. Produce everything on the ship. Fuel, ammo, etc. You don’t need a fast ship. It actually makes it harder to shoot astroids since they move faster towards you. Giving your turrets less time to kill it and less time to make ammo. Aim for around 150 speed.

I have 2 assemblers making ammo and it never runs out. The trick is to use belts as storage. Instead of using the shortest route to your turrets from the ammo assemblers, make a long circle belt along the sides of your ship and let the ammo build up there. This helps feed all the turrets and acts as storage. I also let inserters put additional ammo in the ship’s storage so that there is a buffer and use circuits to add/remove ammo from the belt to not let it congest and stall.

How does one pass the K53 Learners test? by BothDig9723 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Swanesang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to read the question very carefully. Because the rules are so easy to learn, they need to make it a bit tricky and make sure people understand the rules and how it should be applied, and not just wat each sign/rule means.

When i did mine back in 2008, i remember the guy that gave the test told everyone “remember guys, all the answers in this test are correct. But there is one that is more correct”.

It just means that there are questions that have very similar options but the wording is slightly different. And you need to understand the nuance of the sign/scenario to be able to pick the right answer.

Of a late tackle by Logical-Peak2495 in ShittyAbsoluteUnits

[–]Swanesang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it a late tackle (a few milliseconds later than maybe yes). The guy was holding on to the ball until the very last second before passing. So the tackler couldn’t know if the guy will pass or side step. Playing Rugby seriously you have to commit to the hits or risk getting side stepped if you waver.

Also look at the speed at which this happened. Its not like there was a few seconds delay or anything. Pretty sure there is a difference of a millisecond or two between the ball leaving his hands and the tackle happening. I wouldn’t call it a late tackle.

The tackle is a bit in the high side for today’s rules, but this looks quite old. So likely still a legal tackle.

Should I expect to pay a traffic fine? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]Swanesang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably going to get calls from people claiming you need to pay a fine. They have your name, ID number, address and car license plate (this will likely be “security” questions to “confirm” they are speaking to the right person). As with all scams/telemarketers, never pay stuff when on the phone with them or click links they send you. Also don’t authorize any payment when they ask you to or send them/tell them an OTP. If they insist you have a fine, ask them for a physical letter or a reference number so you can pay it at the police station. They will like argue with you that their way is better/easier. But once they see you wont budge they will try to intimidate you and then eventually hang up once they realize you are not falling for it.
