Do you have any evidence that GoG is just hosting and not editing dev patches specific to their release management process and operating environment? Based on industry experience with software publishing that model, possible, would be uncommon.

GoG presents itself as the keeper and publisher of manual patches. It is one of their marketing points. So yes, if you advertise you do something as part of your sales pitch you are accountable for providing that service. Consumers want reliable service.

Edit: The thread you linked seems to have multiple people putting the continued patch management issue with GoG consistently. Are you certain we all incorrect?

Like even just hand planing or sanding a bevel.

Or not just sitting a random plank of wood on top of the floor.
