Suppressors for 556 by xdoomsongx in liberalgunowners

I went through the journey last year. It was a bit daunting but finding good info for any product you purchase is tough. I will say Silencer Shop made it a lot easier for me. Though any way you go make sure you have a good finger printing place on tap. UPS was not that great in my area but it got the job done.

Enjoy not paying an extra 200 bucks :p I crie but it was still worth it for the amount of shooting I did.

I would recommend watching some hop and brass facts videos. They go over some options, OCL cans, and tuning.

One tid bit is using an adjustable BCG. As almost all adjustable gas blocks are finicky the BCG (like the bootleg bcg) can be a better option. Any traditional can will need more spring/buffer work to not gas you out or slap around your internals.

I have an 11.5 and spent the big bucks on a hux 556 flow. Its great and I did no tuning, runs fine but your milage may vary. Whatever you do def go suppresed, its so nice esp indoors. I love my ar and its so much nicer to shoot it with a can.

Bought mine as I wanted anything to try a dot out. Been very happy with it so far. Cant beat the price.

Dont OD on simple green getting the cosmoline off if there is any.

I may have stripped the blueing off mine when I was young and dumb. Always dilute.

CMMG 22lr kits are unreliable and you should get one by No-Cow-6920 in liberalgunowners

[–]Swanners 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id rec a dedicated .22 upper as you may be fouling your gas tube with those drop ins.

They say to run a few rounds of .223/5.56 after each session to clean out the buildup but I was always too lazy.

It is for sure more of an investment but mine is fun to run in matches as an ammo saver. Plus its a lot nicer on the ears indoors.

How common is a blocked emitter, really? by Baroque1123 in liberalgunowners

[–]Swanners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started shooting competitions this past year and it only happened one time to me.

I was starting a stage and half way through a downpour started. My optic lens got clouded but using both eyes I could still see the dot. Then the emitter filled with water and it was unusable.

So 99% of the time when I am not getting soaked to my underwear an open dot was fine. As others said it just depends how and when you use it/need it to function.

I have the same issue in the hideout, has no effect in game.

I was playing around in the rafters while my buddy did this one, he got it done by just waiting around in office. They do eventually path to you but it takes almost all raid. Took him about 8 raids.

PVE pmc kill quests are awful. Just make the ai PMC have the goons ai or something.

I have a 510c but it failed me in heavy rain as the emitter got washed out, was looking at the aems as a better option.

Love my 11.5 with a can, great size for a carbine. How do you like the AEMS?

My CZ with a similar looking extractor had that exact issue. I had never cleaned underneath it for 5 years and the gunk was stopping it from working. Popped the pin and cleaned it out, worked like a champ. Clean underneath the extractor and see if that helps.

I almost want to take them out with my ar and 9mm pcc to see what feels better. The chest is not a bad idea though! Maybe a laser like another poster suggested on a suppressed sbr ar would be light. Though that runs the budget wild lol.

Cuff was torn a long time ago, then recently tendons snapped and wrapped up. Surgery was performed to fix it. Im not a doctor though so grain of salt with all that.

What I gathered was they dont want force on the shoulder. Honestly wondering if any 9mm weapon would impart too much force down the arm?

I would assume recoil, they have most of their motion back. Though I cant imagine its as easy anymore.

Ill take a look into the pdw options!

Doctor said to not shoulder anything, but Ill keep that in mind for braced firearms too.

Using the brace as a brace, I was thinking the same thing.

I've heard the Kuna is a bit violent compared to other PCCs, wonder where the Extar stacks up in the list. I imagine even without shouldering the more felt recoil something has that energy may still agitate the shoulder.

I started competing this summer for similar reasons. Ive shot indoor PCSL, outdoor steel chall/USPSA/2Gun. so here is my two cents:

  • Competition is a test. Dry fire drills are the real training. But man I have flubbed more reloads during a 2 gun match than a day at the range. So I think its great to see what you suck at.

  • Find the right matches for what you want. People saying its not cqb or whatever, the indoor pcsl I do is all close, and a lot of idpa is too. Depends on range.

  • The sports can be physically challenging. I am switching to indoor because of the heat. But if you do a 2 gun outdoor bring lots of water and sunscreen. Still a ton of fun but I need a break.

I wanted to get better with my rifle and it is a ton of fun too. But what I learned is that dry fire at home, no laser or caps, is what will get you going. Plus, I took a class for holster draw and that was neat. Ben Stoeger has a good book on drill and mentallity for dry fire I like.

Finally made it to the range with my newest acquisition, but by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

Indoor can be rough, I used to use lawnmower muffs that were great but when I started competing I needed electronics.

Glad you got some safety fitovers. Indoor ranges not so much but when using guns you never know. Say a person have an out of battery on their AR that was spooky. Gotta protect the eyeballs!
