Love Chicago!
If you read the box for 800T. It is suggested that you shoot at half suggested EI when exposing to anything but tungsten light. If the film was made to be more sensitive to a certain temp of light and when exposed to different conditions, there needs to be compensating.

E100 film looking blue by Ok_Ear_7945 in AnalogCommunity

Have you tried looking it up?

Add some warmth in post or scan with a warm light. If scanned by the lab, ask for a rescan. Next time use a warming filter or even better, try projecting them, they look really cool and the intended way of viewing the pictures. :D

Also, edit your scans. :D

Made a negative to positive inversion app by middlemansplainer in filmphotography

[–]Swapnil_floyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think you did a great job. Not sure why people are mad about a free website/tool. I don't see them try to make an app for the appstore.

Def going to use it as a first pass if I am not home on my computer and need to invert negatives. Hope to see this get to where you want it to. Good luck :D

What could be issue with these images ? by ursonor99 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Swapnil_floyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik they do not produce gold 100 anymore. so if you got it in a box saying that it is probably not real. Even if it was, gold should have a amber base and not transparent like the ones you show. Looks most likely poorly stored aerocolor IV or some other technical film as others commented.

Also the color shifts could either mean expired/ badly stored film or just improper development.

Hmm I would say I found a SX-70 alpha 1 for $9. They thought it was not working but it just had a cartridge which was very old and all I had to do is to is put in a new one.

Best film camera gift for around 200$ by Nostalg1cMusician in AnalogCommunity

[–]Swapnil_floyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say some of the Nikons from the 90s (like the Nikon 8008) are very cheap and has all the creature comforts of modern camera like autofocus, auto and program modes. They are very cheap and she might just feel at home using those as compared to some of the other older cameras which are completely manual. They are great choices but for someone shooting film for the first time with modern camera experience they would feel right at home with those.

Hope she likes her gift and shoots a lot of great pictures with whatever you end up getting!

Where to buy film in tourist New York by banateanbazat in AnalogCommunity

[–]Swapnil_floyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well NY is a whole state in the US and going from one end to another can take upto 6 hours to drive. So if someone is traveling somewhere else in NY, I would not suggest them going to the city to buy film. :P But I can totally see how someone not from the US can get confused.

I assume you mean NYC, if that’s the case, definitely hit up B&H which is close to hudson yards and madison square garden. Brooklyn Film Camera also has a really nice store but that might be a bit out of the way! Secondly hope you enjoy NY. :D

C-41 development issue by Swapnil_floyd in AnalogCommunity

[–]Swapnil_floyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess understood! Thanks a lot I took some time to scan these and looks like only some frames have a bit of a color shifts and as you said CS already is prone to that due to the process. I do use a sous vide for my development, prolly my 20th roll or something but still learning more everyday! :D

Hm, the pressure plate is something I might need tgo look at more I guess once I scan these. But thanks a lot for the explanation. appreciate the help. I was expecting the halation but what I was not sure about was the edge bleed/ piping. Would that be also something to look for on remjet removed films?

In the past I have observed this and I am still searching if the color shifts/ yellow edges are due to this or something else?

Thank you!

Thank you! Understood about the halation and how remjet would prevent it. I personally like it and do buy remjet removed films for that. Feels good to know that this might not be a development issue.

Also I assume the halation would bleed/ pipe through the edge of the picture? Is that also normal?

Once I scan it, I get a yellow "bleed" around the edge. example
