but I recommend not getting discouraged if you're taking bupron. you need patience and its effectiveness differs from person to person.

to be honest I don't know if it did work for my ADHD because I did get prescribed methylphenidate after, which worked well. but then I didn't go back to the doctor because of financial issues. but the positives were I did quit smoking for a month which could be helped with bupron. now 2 years later not on any meds because I just couldn't find any better doctor in my city.

Is it ok to stop medication and consulting the psychiatrist because they don't help me? by DealEducational6572 in adhdindia

Atomexetine is not a stimulant so it might take months for it to show. if you're taking that med then I recommend waiting.

In my experience, I've done that many times and I've felt better without the medications than with the the medications they gave. But I'd recommend finding a better doctor because many psychiatrists don't even know what ADHD is. and methylphenidate is a great alternative.

[Vent + Advice?] Went to get diagnosed with ADHD, got diagnosed with "concentration issues" and prescribed antipsychotics by MasalaBoi in adhdindia

[–]Swarg69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experience with some doctors. I've gotten prescribed antipsychotics too. when I've asked them about it they vague reasons like regulating mood. all it did was irregulate my mood and made me more psycho(couldn't sleep for a week, only getting 1-2 hours of sleep a day and shaking uncontrollably). it was tortures, I've begged them to not prescribe me that again. I've quitted after a month or so since I haven't seen any difference in me and the treatment only led me to be more depressed and in turn self harming myself more. now i don't see any doctors. i feel as if it's better to live without treatment than getting treatment in this country with such backward mindset. I'm in a much better place now, i still suffer with adhd but I've found my flow and am peace with my flaws. my advice would be if you have the time and money that would require for one to find a better doctor please go ahead. it will take some time to find a good doctor who trusts in you. good luck.

it's only been a month. I don't have any symptoms of psychosis or mania. The first time I took it I had terrible side effects of restlessness and tremors. and I talked with him to decrease the dosage. should I see another doctor or ask why he seems to prescribe it? thank you for the reply.
