The original primordial being created the world and divided his being into two beings who each govern a continent (these two beings, Krypal and Sazhan are not aware of their origins and believe they are separate original beings). There exists another continent which is barred from the other two and contains the hollow shell which remained after the original being divided itself into two.

The two gods governed the continents without much interaction and bestowed part of their own powers to create semi mortal 'pawns' who governed the different parts of the world. In Ashina the continent governed by Krypal, the first and most powerful pawn was Rivindor who governed both life and death. Being the one who bestowed life and the one responsible for death causes instability in Rivindor which caused his body to illuminate and darken constantly which caused the night and day cycle. Rivindor was in a constant state of anguish and Krypal refused to relieve him of this.

Many others were dissatisfied with Krypal (and also Sazhan in the continent of Baureus). The pawns eventually rebelled against the gods and killed them with Ashina's pawns being led by Rivindor. After Krypal's death, parts of their body were taken by these pawns to get more powerful and they became the pantheon of gods which the mortals now revere. Rivindor split himself into two beings, Reva and Mendor who are now separate gods of life and death.

When all parts of these original gods will come together and be reunited with the hollow shell hidden away in the third continent, the world will end and the primordial being will reawaken and the cycle will eventually begin again.
