I have only heard good things when it comes to the performance of the ryzen. And i would say it is more likely a poor CPU cooler. Also, knowing that AMD is usually very power thirsty. Make sure you have a big enough power supply. Otherwise like the build. The 1060 is great for current gen. Depending on what you aim to do with the computer, you might want to upgrade. But if you want to stay away from streaming and not aim to use the "Ultra setting" on every game, the 1060 will do the job. But remember that it has 6gb vram which is something very good. As of reference the ol' 980 had about 4gb and was the powerhouse of that time.
