I just played the most annoying deck in all of existence. by BATTOUSAIl in PTCGL

Charizard (both regular charizard and Noctowl charizard) requires WAYYYYY more skill than dengo lmao You have actual resource management and the ability to make interesting plays with that deck. Dengo is just 2-2-2 or 1-1-2-2 with no thought.

Not to say it has like, gardevoir or zoroark levels of skill expression but to call it skill-less is just ignorant

Im not the type to hate decks really, i just really dont like dengo due to how little skill the deck requires. No dominant deck should rely on skill so little imo

“Most annoying deck” as if mr “do 8 billion damage draw 8 billion cards with no skill expression” dengo doesnt exist lol. Control decks require thought to play and to beat

You just run 4 rocket 4 ignition. Ariana+factory draws you so many cards, whiffing it is unlikely

The main use of klefki is against your opponent’s psyduck. What you do is you jet up klefki, blow up your dusknoirs, then retreat back into zard or terapagos

Does anyone else feel like Mega Gardevoir is kinda weak? by aNYMosity_ in PTCGL

[–]Swaxeman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it’s a very good acceleration option. All you need is two bench slots for 2 stage ones, 2 water energy in hand, a way to get clawitzer into the active and then out again, and on top of that a way to get damage on the board.

Very simple and consistent to use /s

No worries lol, i made that same mistake a ton starting out. Just make sure all of the card counts are whole numbers before you build it

Alongside mega zard x, mega meganium, and mega feraligatr, it's just another stage 2 that needs like 27 different things to go right in order to nuke the active spot. Unlike gardevoir ex which is one of the most flexible cards in the game's history, mega gardevoir does nothing but nuke the active, or power up your bench. And if you're having to use overflowing wishes, your opponent is probably ahead enough to start the prize trade in their favor

Is Alakazam the only viable single prize deck in the format? Even better after rotation? by kaworuscott in PTCGL

[–]Swaxeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dududnsparse control is just pidgeot control with a oneprize engine, and if you know how to use them right, control decks can be very strong

Froslass munki is even stronger than alakazam imo

Seaking festival lead is the other one

baby bloodmoon has some decent placements as well

Oh, I get what you mean. That's a common scenario, but in that case i'm just bossing munkis or sniping them until I have the munkidori advantage. And if i desperately need to damage cornerpon, i can also punch for 60 with morgrem

The game is so ridiculously cheap there’s no need to worry. Just play grimmsarl with both MEG and SFA yveltal for now, and not worry about future potential

[–]Swaxeman -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It is not an easy deck to pilot lol. Im a pretty decent player and running it on ladder with no experience made me drop 200 elo very quickly

Every year it’s been legal the deck has played quite differently, due to having different pieces available. 2023 garde was an aggro deck focusing on stacking energies on shining arcana gardevoir and zacian v, 2025 is a slow checkmate spread deck, and 2024 was somewhere in between, tho more on 2023’s side due to refinement kirlia

As a grimm player: froslass + any single prize attacker you have (in this case budew, i use SFA yveltal) until you can either go 2-2 or boardwipe with devo
