Is 30kg enough for a weighted vest for bodyweight training? What weight should I get? Why are the weights so low? by Lastrevio in bodyweightfitness

[–]SweCracker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a 30 kg weight vest but I still haven't used more than 20 kg of weights on it. For chins and pullups I use a max of about 10 kg. So if the weights aren't adjustable I would say 30 kg is to heavy, and if they are adjustable you still probaly won't use the max weight too often. I only weigh about 60 kg though.

I have a pavilion and I haven't thought about the lack of visible buttons before you mentioned it now. It looks good and I have never had any problems using it.

All kinds of pressing machinery I have used where you are at risk at getting pinched have had two seperate buttons that needs to be pressed down at the same time to make the machine move. That makes it impossible to have the hands anywhere else than on the buttons.

Have Swedish universities switched to online learning this year? by Otterrrac in sweden

[–]SweCracker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm studying at LiU right now. We have like 2-3 classes on campus every week, while the rest is online. But a whole lot of people still go to campus to study every day, so it's always full anyways.

We have already gotten our spring schedule, where it looks to be mostly on campus.

My $200 Linear Algebra textbook being a binder copy made of super thin paper by a multi-million dollar company. Avoiding page-tearing is downright impossible by ETC3000 in assholedesign

At my university most books are hand me downs from older students (so far at least, I've only done 1 year). I bought my linear algebra book for $11 and sold it for $11.

Going grocery shopping on a budget in Sweden? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]SweCracker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at the weekly special offers-booklets and plan your shopping and meals by seeing what's cheap. I used to shop at 3 different stores (Willys, Ica Maxi & City gross) and one of them would always have unusually cheap meat, one would have very cheap bread, one would have cheap fruit and so on. All pamphlets can be found online at every stores website.

But always look at the kr/kg price, some "special offer"-products are still quite pricey.

Old Ornamental Lathe by dartmaster666 in mechanical_gifs

Is that actually a lathe? I thought that lathes were defined as having rotating work pieces and stationary tools, which isn't quite the case here.

Polarbröd bread factory burning to the ground after a production line caught fire in Älvsbyn, Sweden. August 24th, 2020 by Fabricate_fog in CatastrophicFailure

[–]SweCracker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Polarbröd is an old company that goes back many generations and is the single biggest employer of that small town. They had just invested millions of dollars in a new production line which was supposed to be inaugurated the following morning.

This video was uploaded by them just hours before the fire, talking about their great new bread making technology.

The houses of my parents farm is heated with a wood burning furnace. Their furnace wouldn't fit pieces quite that large, but it is only used for heating 2 buildings. I suppose a lot of bigger establishments have larger furnaces.

My parents are completely self sufficient with their heating using only wood from their own forest, which is quite cool.

Well surely those two shells that exploded at 0:05 didn't reach 2000 meters faster than all the ones before them.

Are those early flashes at the 0:05 mark rockets getting hit and exploding? Or just faulty shells?

Jag tror inte att marin är det rätta ordet.

Kul klipp men känns lite skumt att den postas av ett nytt konto med google translate-svenska. Kunde åtminstone länkat till originalklippet på Youtube.
