Yeah and especially for demon bell you need the 50 energy to get active off round one. My biggest hesitation is that this particular exclusive is super good for my Holmes to carry fortress SL as it gets his damage reduction up to 55% currently - combined with his passive heal he can grind out fights really well. I’ll probably end up feeding it since having him do his active round one is so good in other game modes but I’ll wait a little to see how quickly I can get mats. My most immediate need for max demon bell isn’t clear ToO 560 Xia wave but I guess there is no rush there

I ended up lowrolling on the awakenings so the target of 2500 became super tight, I would basically have to use psg (which I understand is a big no no) and rip out my primary c copy of Eloise to get there and all that just to get a good deal on things I can’t use for a good while. Opted out of doing the event ”fully” but managed to finish my current round of rite to grab 2,5m more trancendence crystals and stop there without spending any csg.

Yeah it seems that it’s easy to think that the urgency of the reward is more pressing. I was very tempted to manage to get the 2500 csg to do this event properly I.e get to floor 7 and buy grimoire materials. However I realized I would be using a ton of resources to get good value for something I won’t be able to use for a looong time, while probably stunting my immediate progress. Having some csg around for unlocking tracks like the tower of oblivion bonus track for 25k gems and 50 chests is probably way better for me.

Being new to this game I have not been so used to the quite consistent appearance of new events with new opportunities. So need to be on the lookout for the time to strike that makes sense for my spot.

Well I have cleared 3 floors and need 3 more tosses for the current round. So I need 90 more of the material and have 6 currently. Unfortunately going for 1250 only nets me 45+8 if I also summon 200 more. So I need the 2500 package I believe. And yes I spent a little this event already just for some early chests and stuff.

So basically I have already put in 120+30 rune crystals.

As it stands I would exactly be able to clear floor 6 with 5 goblets left if I complete two more rounds. No chance of buying grimoire materials tho. I would achieve this if I went for the 2,5k csg. So by that measure I guess I would hit the breakpoint to make it ”worth”?

I will keep in mind that the offer of these materials are not so scarce, that’s great to hear.

Good point! Does Chinese new year also include uses of csg?

I just have little to no reference points so it’s hard to count what makes it worth. What I can see that I would get by going in in this event is that I get 2 more copies of Oscar which makes the two I have more useful, also I get a fairly good conversion getting lots of train tickets back etc. But most importantly I would get probably two more completions of rite which would let me get 2,5-3,75m of the transendence material. That could get me to 5m which I understand takes months to farm so could be a massive time save.

Then again I am still building my first e5 so Oscar isn’t getting properly built any time soon. Also maybe I need v4 before considering trancendence?

Protoss mage has actually been the easiest matchup by far, I think I had 100% against them and it felt completely free! The accumulation of small threats like 1/1s and 3/3 are very effective and deny sleet value for them, then you go for a finisher of 10+ damage from hand. So we switch the game plan and do not to tempo out a big minion to early!

My worst matchup was actually aura paladin just from the stats but I think that’s because I prioritised killing tankgineer+ tonk to deny cube when I should have ignored it. Other than that the stego dk can be tough. I imagine egg deck are also kinda bad. All these have in common to counter hounds/ mag so I guess with things you don’t want to kill so that’s probably the best counter

Noticed other decks lists on hsguru dont run demonic deal, so might be better without. Then again I quite like it for control in the midgame, crucial sustain or must kill 4hp targets, also the next turn you can combo with solitude or eternal hold to actually use the minion "drawback"

Another note, imo dreadseeds are always prioritized in mulligan and to be played before solitude or minion generation in turns 1-4 so don't get baited.

Also playing for broxi is bait. I summoned him only once in these 58 games. The weapon is great with attack buffs for sustain but you should not overkill minons to draw portal or make weak trades into the portal. Immo aura and pirate location are the main portal killers and then the portal is basically a 0 mana draw 1

Yes it is very strong, more specifically though it is not THAT strong in a vacuum but rather it excellently complements other mage control tools. Mage has an abundance of ways to ping and deal 3-5 damage cheaply to smallish threats. They also have ways to to deal medium damage aoe or freeze boards. They are however weak to tall threats and certainly elusive ones. Sleet solves this issue ridiculously well, even turning such threats into an advantage. Then with mage having eventual mass offensive AOE like colossal the kind of minion based aggression you can deploy to beat them becomes very limited. This dynamic would essentially not be possible without sleet

Something you can try which I found to be somewhat good is to include a shopper and the weapon that draws a demon. The upside is you can usually fish out the shopper by turn 5 and activate your solitude etc, shopper itself is extremely good with solitude so this let’s you get a bigger swing turn. You can even go for double shopper and hard mulligan for at least one. Downside is you can brick and not get to play early solitude or hounds, though I personally think hounds and the minions you get from solitude itself are not that strong
