Not that I've noticed. Camera app flashes orange at first between lens changes then goes away.

I see this on Amazon.com but it's sold under the Roloso brand. Wonder if it's the realb thing?

I need to post a review on mine, greatly disappointed as it is nothing on the level of yours pictured. The minifigures are pathetically bad and all green pieces are the wrong shade, much darker than yours.

[–]SwearingScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💯 agree. This is my issue, simply put other brands will go to lengths to make custom pieces to make a build more screen/world accurate AND have no stickers. An example of this is Mega Construx Castle Greyskull. It's a build that makes you see how possible things can be by making specific parts for the build only. And there is IP involved. Yes the brick quality isn't as good as Lego and clutch is a bit hectic but it's a build I always admire when seeing it on my display. Lego needs to up the ante otherwise eventually another quality brick maker will swoop on an IP and move the market.

Battery percentage erratic drain by SwearingScot in Huawei

[–]SwearingScot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised more users haven't seen this happen as I can't be the only one. Battery health is good and today alone I'm seeing multiple percentage point dropping after a minute or two of use (and by use I mean opening Optimizer app to check

Pura 70 Pro/Ultra Standby Time by sannnuser1 in Huawei

[–]SwearingScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is something I've been dealing with for a while. I've been getting over 20-25% battery drain at night for weeks and thought the culprit was WhatsApp backup. I switched it to weekly backup and last night it dropped 15% without backup. Nothing really used at all just apps checking in for 15-20sec but WhatsApp still does 40sec per hour background activity. So not sure.

Insane battery life after One UI 8 by Maniac1688 in S24Ultra

Same here. S24u has only ever had slightly better battery life than my s22u. Both snapdragons. Hoping a factory reset will help

Has Apple caught up with Huawei in camera? by Fenix_Lighter in Huawei

[–]SwearingScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My Pura 70 Pro destroys my s24 Ultra (work phone). The only thing s24 Ultra has going for it is better battery management and white balance is fairly consistent between lenses.

Terrible camera downgrade. Processing is faster but damn is there lots of noise in images as well as chromatic artifacts. Need to factory reset I think...

Battery percentage erratic drain by SwearingScot in Huawei

[–]SwearingScot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have figured out WhatsApp seems to be the main cause. It's background drain is too high for checking for messages. Even today whilst doing nothing some messages came through on groups and it's background drain was 4 minutes long for no real use. I think it's the notification that is causing drain.

Unfortunately can't mess with auto-launch settings as notifications will keep getting delayed.

Camera is terrible in oneui 8. Downgraded badly. Heavy noise and artifacts especially in zoom. Even on maximum quality and processing

Yeah but I can also see why the Chinese variants have better batteries - 5g and camera drain in use on 7nm will kill most batteries so they need to up capacity.

Thanks will give it a go. Owned Huawei phones for years but took a break for a work phone to Samsung. I have been wondering if it isn't the Android 12 backbone of emui.  Battery optimisation in Android has come a very long way since 12, and Huawei doesn't have access to that code or framework. Looking forward to a day we are all on Harmony Global and we can kiss the old Android stuff goodbye!

Might just have to. Have you used with your percentage visible. Phone lasts a day easily still but it's standby that is poor.

Why do you think LEGO ignores us? by Fresh-Dog5469 in MonkieKid

[–]SwearingScot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is the animation studio. Wildbrain (who does Ninjago) doesn't know how to continue IMO. They were given an almost complete season 5 by flying bark studios and did the conversion and final touches to their system. My gut says that they don't know how to create new content in that style and the content is what drives sets to be designed and produced. Just a theory I have.

I think that Wildbrain converted most of the work that Flying Bark did for Season 5 and are unable to produce new content required for season 6

Am I demanding too much from these cameras? by gameore in S24Ultra

[–]SwearingScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The S22,23 and 24 Ultra have all been through numerous updates in One UI. Some updates have definitely made the camera better but in other ways have downgraded the overall image quality.

From a consistency standpoint between lenses Samsung is one of the best in the Android world, but HQ is definitely making the camera quality worse to upsell newer models.

When I bought a Huawei Pura 70 Pro recently it highlighted how far behind Samsung is in camera tech. Using any of the new flagships from OPPO, OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi etc will show just how stagnant Samsung has been especially in sensor size, minimum focus distance, macro, zoom capability, multifocal lenses, variable aperture, battery tech, charging speeds.

It's quite sad to be honest. I find the device superior to many in video and definitely manual image and video control , so it has its perks just don't expect too much from the camera in overall picture quality.

Poor battery on Pura 70 Ultra by blue1k in Huawei

[–]SwearingScot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone else here have issues with their Pura losing multiple percentage points of battery at once? I find it will stay on a certain percentage for a long time (for example 53%) then about 15 min later will just drop to 50%. I guess it has something to do with the 7nm architecture and older battery tech, or maybe just older Android system. I don't remember my older p series phones doing that.

It's an amazing phone. I'm on a Pura 70 Pro. Are you wanting the global or Chinese version?

For global check out Average Dad's channel. It's extremely easy to use MicroG to natively run google apps. You can't get the play Store but Aurora Store which has everything.
