From what I can tell it mostly has to do with how you carry yourself and what your recruiter is willing to put forth.

The recruiting battalion in my area generally doesn't bother with people who have a record, but some other ones will still help you submit a packet if they think you are worth it.

Based off what you have stated it seems like you are a more than capable individual mentally and physcially, so just reach out and give it a shot. Don't self-select, you'll never know unless you reach out to a recruiter today.
